    oh my GOD. this fic had me giggling like a schoolgirl while i read through certain passages and tensed on the edge of my seat for others, incredibly descriptive and compelling. just as i'd brace myself for a cliffhanger, i'd let out a sigh of relief at the introduction of a new scene-- it wasn't over yet. almost any ending to a chapter leaves me feeling unsatisfied (because i want more!!), even if i wait with bated breath for the next, but yours was a flawless way to pause a story i will be watching closely. that takes serious skill.

      Hi anon !!! Thank you for reading, I'm glad that you enjoyed it ! It was indeed quite challenging to find the perfect spots to split the fic into 3 chapters so that they're roughly 10ish k words each but also with endings that make sense. I would like to know which passages had you giggling like a schoolgirl (because there's a fat chance I was also giggling like a schoolgirl while writing them)

        She leans in again, this time cupping Sieben’s face between her hands, almost tenderly. When she speaks, her voice is so quiet Sieben can barely hear her over the thumping of her synthetic heart.

        “Will you be good for me, Sieben ?”

        Sieben’s throat bobs up and down as she swallows spit. Stupid fucking organic reflex. “I’ll… try,” she manages, foolishly, humiliatingly .

        Open hands; the Starling releases her face. Soft touch on her cheeks and her chin disappearing, as soon as it came. The weight on Sieben’s midsection lifts as Jäger gets up. “Come on,” she says. “Let’s get back to work.”
