    I really love the hypercompetent Cryptid series. My actual job for a few years was to be able to give a brief overview and an experts name for any question about the complicated airplane control system we were building. I even had to do the ‘here are the things you should already know’ training modules.
    So a weird mix of nostalgia and hysteria over here.

    I always love super competent robins, but the ongoing reveal of RR’s history plus the council of spiders chapter were perfect. And the alien robots defeated by nut shots and stealing of shoes … brilliant.

    Please keep writing because your brain is producing awesome stuff.

      I had no idea that that was a job, but I love that it is, and it makes so much sense that it exists. And the mix of nostalgia and hysteria thinking about old jobs is so real, I heard my old boss’ ringtone the other day (i learned from those training modules at my new job that he committed at least six different types of harassment, if that gives you an idea of the kind of guy he is) and had such a visceral reaction and immediately looked up to make eye contact with my coworker, who I haven’t seen in a year, before I realized what I was doing and was in a weird mood about it for the rest of the day. It was always kind of satisfying when his phone rang, because due to a clerical error fifteen years before that he never fixed, people would call his phone number instead of the other location’s and it would happen like eight times a day.

      I semi-recently started working for a bigger company, so I wrote this while I was going through a bunch of mandatory trainings and the entire time I was thinking about the fact that people had to make them in the first place and was trying to be positive by thinking “however long and tedious this is, you know that if batman wrote it it would be s o much longer, more tedious, and there’d be an actually difficult test at the end” then there was a long string of mental gymnastics that lead to “what would tim drake, child of the owners of a large business and batman do if confronted by incompetence?” He would make trainings and make them mandatory.

      Reveal fics of various unhinged things Tim Drake has done or been involved in are some of my favorites, so I’m trying to write the fics I want to see in the world (self-indulgent crack. I want self-indulgent crackfics.)

      Anyway, tldr, thank you for the comment, it made my day a lot better. Half my family is sick, so I have been exiled to my grandma’s house for the next few days and thos made me smile<3<3<3
