This fic has been on my TBR list for so long, and I cannot tell if I should've read it earlier or if I'm glad I'm saved it to be able to enjoy it now and take my time with it.
I love this little chapter as opener. The two different timelines mirroring each other, how older Ginny is dealing with the aftermath of the war, but younger Ginny isn't in a much better place, when she already has the diary and we know what will happen to her. And there's so much here that I'm already curious to see what will come later (hello, Hannah).
Ginny feels so fleshed out, from making jokes about her own tragedy, to being sincerely upset about leaving the school, the quiet defiance and not taking herself or these rituals too seriously, her feelings for Harry... The hands on the thestral scene was great, as was Harry and Andromeda vanishing from the ceremony.
Small Ginny and Colin are adorable, I'm already feeling sad over them.
