I'm still only halfway through the novels but I was literally thinking "please god just cry in front of him, you want to, you Know you want to" during this arc, but alas, sqq has the emotional self-awareness of a half-chipped plastic spoon forgotten and partially buried in the forest floor. painful as hell knowing he clearly cares to the point of genuine grief, that everyone around him sees, but that he is unwilling to accept...
anyway bless u for this I should've waited until finishing the next chapter to comment but I was so excited seeing a fic with this premise at all and loved this chapter so much that I'm dumping it all on you now. love you so much. wah
aside: I too very nearly shipped sqq/gongyi xiao, he's such a good lad (sobbing)
