    I re-read it, somewhat accidentally, last week and was struck by how quickly everything happens. It really is just one damn thing after another for them (Especially that conversation about concern/fear of the Justice League -> Alien invasion -> Bruce being afraid that the League will come for him, feeling so careful about protecting the Manor -> Superman showing up at the Manor. Clark! You should feel lucky that Alfred didn't just straight up shoot you!)

      It has been one HELL of a run of weeks, for absolute sure. And Alfred was definitely tempted. Gotham is fully reeling, they have had two invasions in as many months, everything is crashing down around their ears, but they are damn well hanging on. They are. Just. Nobody make any more sudden moves for a while, okay? Heh.
