I love this! I love Charlie and Adam getting to be rivals again. And Adam's complete nervousness at picking a rival school to Charlie. You have down their rhythm and voices so perfectly. “About,” Charlie prompts. “Be a big boy, Banksy, use your words.” This was absolutely perfect and I heard it so clearly in my head from Charlie.
My heart aches for Adam here--still feeling like he needs to prove himself and do it on his own. Convinced that Charlie might still be mad at him. And missing Charlie so much... “I miss you,” Adam says, and it comes out all hurried and fast, Adam’s face getting pink. ughhh the best kind of ache to read about.
And then Adam's confession! I love it! It's so awkward and sweet and totally him. Ahhhh this was fantastic! I loved every word of it (and especially thinking about Connie going to Harvard). This was so sweet and perfect for them.
