That bothers me to no end! For a show that likes to talk about grey morality, the last two seasons make it appear that they are attempting to use Aaravos as a scapegoat for all of the animosity between humans, elves, and dragons. It’s so incredibly damaging to the show, and removing so much potential for a conflict of interest that might make the humans want to help Aaravos instead of just throwing him back in solitary confinement.
From what I also noticed, this isn’t super common, but it seems it even makes some fans toxic agains those who like Aaravos. Like bro let us like him 😂😭
I honestly hope the end game of the show would be either Aaravos loses from his own madness from being locked away for so long. The second good ending I think would be us finding out the dragons and elves were using Aaravos as their scape goat (like you said) because then the tables would turn and it would be super interesting.
I personally hope Callum doesn’t learn anymore arcanum’s, I think that would be a very poor choice. Especially if he learns the star one. The show itself even had people writing about how no other being (elves, human, dragon) being able to understand the vastness of the star arcanum or even coming close to understanding it, if Callum learns that then I’m just saying he has main character syndrome.
I wouldn’t hate the show if he does learn more or the star arcanum, but I feel as though I would watch the rest of it with a face like 🫥 because then we know all the fight scenes will not be interesting because he will win no matter how bad it looks. I personally think it would be cool if someone else learns an arcanum, but I don’t think anyone should be able to learn the star one aside from those born to it.
What do you hope happens or hopefully doesn’t happen?
(I also can’t wait for the final chapter of your fic, I need to go comment on the second chapter as to not accidentally spoil for future readers (😂 just deleted some stuff from here 😅
While I don’t want Callum to master the Star arcanum, I am all for him getting some guidance and understanding of it from a Star Mage. I think that the last arcanum he should learn is the moon, (you’ll see why in the last chapter) and an epilogue showing him as the first human archmage would be alright depending on how the writers decide to handle the last two seasons.
With the introduction of the Novablade, I’m very concerned how the show writers are going to handle such a deus ex machina of a plot device, because simply killing Aaravos would be such an awful ending to such a fantastic character.
That last chapter is making its way out, slowly but surely. Finals are this week, but I’m planning on spending the entirety of Friday and Saturday finishing and polishing it.
I could accept him learning the moon arcanum, as it seems he’s been not really trying to learn it, but has been given a lot of information about it. So I could see it being possible.
It would be cool for him to meet and get guidance from a star mage, I wonder if it would be (assuming they are Star connected) the celestial elves? Cuz I hardly doubt it would be Aaravos😂😅 for multiple reasons (but a lot of people think he was a teacher in the past and I do too, so I would love to see that)
