   Interesting question and one I'm very happy to answer! In certain cultures, butterflies are believed to represent the soul. Then, the process of breaking from a cocoon is, as you already know, symbolic of new life, growth etc, but others also ascribe the meaning of overcoming challenges to it, since it can be hard to break out of the cocoon. Then, I put my own spin on that by making the butterflies colours representative of both Todoroki and Midoriya.
