and now I’m sobbing again. Obi-Wan’s life was so SAD…this was beautiful though. I think Luke having his journals to look back on is lovely, too. I would love to have someone be able to tell him the parts of his story that explain him being fluent in Mando’a and writing a remembrance list that I’m sure included many of the clones he knew that died.
So you wouldn't necessarily know this unless you're reading the other parts of this story, but the head of security that Luke mentions is Boil! He and Wooley both work for Leia now and I'm sure they will be able to share more stories with Luke when he asks.
Canon is so CRUEL to all the people I love the most. Nearly everything I do in Star Wars is fix-its, but this particular universe started as a fix-it for Kix where Din finds him, so it's set in canon well after Obi-Wan died. And I couldn't stand to keep Cody alive to know that Obi-Wan had been alive all that time then died right before the Empire was defeated.... so sadly, in this universe they got a more canon-compliant tragic ending.
