This is so good! I love Tim so much and the way Batman is just like, "he said no?? Then it's NO!"
I just find the image of this tiny gremlin child (though nobody knows that) being the only one Batman listens and defers to. Like, hilarious would that be on a league mission? If you're looking for another way to open the chapter, Jason talking to a league member he thinks could have them help and have them be like, "oh yeah red? He's the only one I know that could make batman freeze with just a look. Really surreal cause normally it's the other way around--we decided he was the coolest from then on."
Also, Jason, I think, was portrayed really well. He doesn't view Tim as anything more than collateral damage (he's not trying to test him like he supposedly was in canon, just beat him up to teach Batman a lesson) and I think the whole paralytic thing was a nice touch because it explains why he was able to give such thorough beatdown when Tim is so much more skilled than before.
Omg YES Batman has been pavloved into immediately listening when Tim says no.
I suddenly really really want to use that opening. If not it the next chapter, then at some point in the future. 🤣
That was what I was going for there! I'm glad it came across right. And yeah! I was sitting there trying to figure out how to make rhe fight work since Tim is kinda OP and I still needed Jason to go bang bang... specifically so that Kon would hate him, but you know. 🤣 and it isn't as personal to him this time cause Tim mainly goes by Red, and white Jason isn't happy that he's Red ROBIN, it isn't as bad. Especially because NOBODY knows who Red is.
So Jason played it smart cause he wanted to be able to hold one over Talia and Ras as well as make his point.

Ohhh... that's a good question... I'd love to see more of Tim's civilian side--more EMT and how he's making a difference there. I love it when people realize how awesome Tim is, and so how would his EMT peeps react? Would his cover story be that he got mugged? Would they be suspicious of this too tiny "man" who is obviously hiding from something, because what kid lives on his own if he's got better options? I would also love to see Bruce's reaction to Tim almost dying (cause it sounds like it was pretty close!). Is he more standoffish? Is he using phrases that got him a sticker last time, but Tim's like "??? genuine care from another person?? Must be trying to plot?? maybe??" You've mentioned it with Dick and Barbara, but I'd be interested in seeing those reactions flushed out a bit more.
And then, if you're up for it, maybe some hints about where Tim is in the opening bits? Cause right now we know no one knows anything about where he is despite Jason trying to hunt him down, and it seems like Jay is getting a little more worried the longer he can't find him, but are there going to be any hints? You mentioned him being kidnapped, but is this them jumping to conclusions? Or is he just awol with the titans?
But yeah! Love this story! I get so excited whenever I see there's a new chapter!
Okay, also, I don't know how you would fit this in necessarily, but I'm also dying to know how Tim meets Tam (since you have them as being besties in your other fic). Like, he's an EMT? She's working at WE? Are they just meant to be best friend soulmates forever?

That's a good idea. I keep feeling like I've spent too much time on the characters, but then I look and it's like, three words lol. I definitely do want to flesh out their reactions and relationships with Tim after this.
HMMMmmmm I dunno, I'll try to give a couple hints maybe... the difficult part comes cause I'm still not QUITE sure how I want the fic to end 🤣 which is why I'm trying to be careful. I have it narrowed down tho, so I might be able to do something that hints without giving away
Honestly, I'm seeing one of two ways with Tim (obv, you got your own ideas, but maybe these can help give ideas?). From what I know of canon, I kind of see Tim and Ra's shenanigans as the reason he's disappeared. Maybe he's captured? Maybe he's paying off a debt from getting Bruce back if that's the way you go with it? Maybe he's traded his help for a future favor? Maybe doing Pru a favor and doesn't get why everyone's freaking because, again, "genuine concern for my wellbeing??? less likely than you think!".
Or maybe something on the civilian side of things? Because they didn't talk to Kon, maybe the Titans know, but maybe Tim's taking a hiatus, trying to take care of himself (okay, I know, but anythings possible!) and they're being twerps and not passing it along because they think that 1)the bats probably won't care, and 2) if they do, they deserve to worry a bit because they suck(ed). Or maybe Tim got injured enough on a solo (or Titan) venture that he's just recovering, ignorant to the chaos he's left behind.
Also! This is just for my own peace of mind, but when your tags say major character death, you're talking about Jason right??? Because you already promised me no dead Tim, and so I'm like, partially like, "LORETTA9 NO!" and also like, "Oh yeeeeeah let's do this baby!"
LOL no worries, the only dead Tim is gonna be in the other fic, not this one 🤣 but I totally get where you are coming from 😁
I promise that this has at the very least, a bittersweet ending, if not a happy one. Depends on how I'm feeling when we get there 😁😁😁
And while I HAVE put a lot of thought into possibly having Ras be the reason, in the end I really really wanted to see him freaking out at some point because the Mysterious Detective is GONE and WHERE DID HE GO?! So uh, yeah, he isn't responsible lol. I can also tell you that no, it isn't from personal choice. That's all I'm giving you this chapter tho!
