OH that reminds me: i had a longer convo w just jackson and ethan written down but it didn't really fit in the story so i had theo tune them out. this is what they're saying while he's not paying attention: j: you dated danny?? e: yeah? you knew him? j: knew him? babe, he was my best friend from middle school until i left! i still talk to him sometimes! e: really? so do i. wait, do you think he knows we know each other? j: i doubt it, we mostly talk about lacrosse and soccer — he’s on his school’s team, too — not really personal stuff. e: that’s it? j: sometimes he’ll send pictures of nice cars he sees. e: ouch. low blow. j: i haven’t been able to break it to him that i can’t drive sports cars anymore. e: i thought you came to terms with that a while ago. j: i did, but what exactly am i supposed to say? “there’s no room for my tail?” im sure that won’t raise any alarm bells. e: oh he didn’t tell you? he knows about werewolves and shit. might have the whole time. j: what?? im going to kill him. *stops, eyes widen* oh. he’s going to kill me. e: ??? j: oh god, how long do you think he’s known? he’s gonna be so smug, and also pissed that i didn’t tell him. e: that you’re a werewolf/kanima? j: no! that i’m queer. e: you never came out to him? j: i only realized years after i left! and it was a process. e: oh, i can imagine the sheer scale of the denial. j: christ, he could probably sense it the whole time. he did always look like he knew something i didn’t, but i just thought it was because he’s smarter than me. e: if lydia knew, danny definitely knew. j: i can never show my face around him again. e: …if we told him we’re dating, do you think… *raises eyebrows suggestively.* j: *takes a second, then gets it* oh my god, babe. you’re unbelievable. e: maybe, but i haven’t heard a no from you. j: i’m not talking about this in scott fucking mccall’s house. e: still dodging the question. j: ANYWAY...
OMFG I LOVE THIS I mean I can understand why you didn't put it in, it would probably have maaaajorly distracted me from the main plot, but daaaaang this is so funny! I actually do think that you made the implications pretty clear that the first part of that conversation happened, but the deeeetaaails The tail... I'm trying to figure out the logistics of it in everyday life now and I'm not sure if I wanna or if I should push it to the very back of my brain🤣 Also, the possibility of Jackson not knowing that Danny knows about the werewolf stuff?😂😂 I'm still so sad that we never got Danny interacting with the supernatural side after we found out he knew... wow, now I'm missing him again 🥲
