    I accept your apology, and you did actually tone it down between your first version and the edit, so I would also like to apologize, as my tone responded to the harsher (to me) version, and I did not revise.
    I do understand what you're saying, and I am genuinely sorry that you got hurt. I think it's wise to begin checking more in depth as you plan to, also.
    I still feel comfortable with the warnings I've given this story, and I hope it might be some comfort to know that it's getting a sequel which is going to quite undo the harsh ending, another reason I would not change the tags now. This was also part of the reason the ending itself was so harsh and abrupt, so that there would be room to theorize and/or write happier endings, which I've encouraged plenty of people to do, if that helps them.
    All's quite forgiven, I assure you. I can admit I can be defensive at times, or miss tonal signals, especially in text.
