This was amazing, perfect. The original story was so cathartic to me when I first read it because, as someone who has always imagined himself as Zuko, having him struggling so much with the weight of everything and having almost no one notice -- that was what I needed to read back then. But this was such a great fix it for all the problems that The Promise had.
Zuko really, really needs support after everything because gosh dang it, he's so traumatized. Plus in the comic, they literally say that he's had like five assassination attempts and everyone is just like, oh Zuko you're just being overdramatic. Like, no wonder he can't sleep??? And that's not even counting the fifty million other things on his mind. Just get this boy a hug, a nap, and a therapist
