While Jack wasn’t nearly as bad as fanon oft makes him there were times I could’ve shaken those two for their “your lucky to have a father attitudes.
Jack and Tim had a very rough relationship and Jack (clearly, by the way he threatened Bruce with a gun) was not a stable and responsible adult when Tim was left with him. I think Jack was jealous of Tim's good relationship with Bruce and abruptly realized that sending Tim off to boarding school over and over hadn't done him any favors. I think Stephanie would be much more sympathetic
