  1. Love this so far. I love the unique twist of having Alfred the artist and Matthew the athlete. It's rare but organic, and it really makes as sense with their characters as the other way around.

I don't typically pair Alfred and Kiku as more than friends but I LOVE their friendship. That you are developing them as friends first is everything. <3

I wonder if Francis would be more encouraging to Alfred if he knew his interest in art or if comics don't count.

    1. Thank you!! The reason I wanted to make Mattie the athlete is because I recently moved to Canada and I can already see that hockey is a religion here--and I don't think I've ever seen a fic with Matthew as a hockey player? It's a violent and intense game, to boot, so it would lead to some interesting interpretations of his character, right? Ameripan is super new to me, haha, this is the first I'm writing it! I think the romance will be more subtle, like not the main plot, anyway. And yeah, Francis would! Alfred's just convinced himself that nothing he does matters...

Thanks so much for your lovely comment!! <3

      1. I love the way you went with it! I feel like there's too much shy, quiet Matthew, and it's great to see him developed beyond that. Like, sure, those are traits but he's more than that. I can definitely see him as a serious, passionate hockey player, and I can see Alfred just as you described him - someone surrounded by people but with fee true friends.

        1. I agree! I think aph Canada is one of those characters who can almost be written as "too soft" - his only trait being his weakness, basically, which imo isn't that interesting to read? This is also my first time writing a proper Alfred storyline (usually my fics don't include much of him), so it's interesting to explore his character! I see him as the type who is friendly to all, yet someone who finds the process of true friendship too vulnerable and scary.
