This is so lovely ^_^. I feel like cuddling it and keeping it with me for a long long while. Bookmarked!
I love that it's TOS-based, and there was Sybok! I love big-brother-Sybok! and Amanda and her daemon both were amazing! but why did you have to bring T'Pring into the story 1_1? I usually like her and you did keep her true to character but wasn't it obvious to Sarek what would result from that attempted bonding? Was he planning on making his son feel more alone and like an aberration of nature than he already felt?! Gah! I don't like this Sarek in this. Then again I can't much complain since their strained relationship is canon ::pout::
You've woven the tale so beautifully, I often found myself near tears when reading Spock's parts. Even Septon pulled on my heart strings repeatedly. The Tarsus bit was especially heart wrenching because all the main characters were suffering in it. I particularly liked the way you touched on Jim's thoughts on Talessa's wolf form. A sociopath is not something I would have associated a wolf with but I love that Jim accepts that the wolf is a part of him even if he may hate it and worries that Talessa may settle into that. I also like how Jim, after that averted disaster with Sandy, makes sure to always ensure that his companions are fine with both his daemons.... Which leads me to... I love how Septon and Ashadri take an almost instant shine to each other and I especially love the moment that Spock and Septon finally meet <3 and Pike's comment immediately following that meeting made me grin like a loon :D
Really this entire story is lovely and gorgeous and heart wrenching and amazing and perfect and really all kinds of adjectives that are used for gushing praise and it has a happy ending \0/ which makes it even more perfect because I love angst-with-a-happy-ending :)
Sorry I took so long to reply! I'm glad you like the fic - the size of your comment alone got me smiling :) And I'm very pleased to hear that someone liked Sybok! I always stick him in Spock's background in fics, but I know a lot of people prefer to pretend he doesn't exist, ha. And, yeah, I adore Sarek but he's kind of obtuse when it comes to Spock. He has good intentions. Bad execution. The wolf thing I thought was basically canon, in His Dark Materials? I've seen it mentioned in a few other crossover fics, and all the super-violent Tartars in the books always seemed to have wolf daemons. But I get what you mean - I felt kind of odd writing that scene, too. Wolves are amazing. And yeah, I kept thinking 'how do I bring in McCoy?' and 'PORCUPINE!' was the first thing that leapt into my mind. A very cuddly porcupine, because we all know McCoy's a marshmallow deep down. :) Thank you for this delightful comment, and I'm happy you enjoyed it so much!

You're welcome ^_^.
Regarding the wolf thing being canon, thanks for letting me know because it's been ages since I read the actual trilogy and I actually haven't read any HDM fanfiction (except for your and Gyptain's crossovers). Frankly, I'd completely forgotten about the Tartars. So yeah I've forgotten the daemons that they have too. Maybe it's time I re-read the trilogy ^_^.
