    I’d like to first thank you for making my first day back at work so much better! Reading this fic was just… *chefs kiss* or whatever the kids are saying.

    I’d also like to criticize you: you posted at the exact time I had to enter the first of many long, boring faculty meetings. Meaning the rest of my day was consumed by me thinking about this fic and not being able to read it until *hours* later. ☹️ I was so excited to read it I nearly forgot to put my car into park when I got home. (This is obviously a fake criticism and pls don’t take it seriously just note that I am a real human disaster.)

    Back to the compliments:

    WOW! You’ve set up something I haven’t seen in many of the post-Manchester fics (which I’ve read plenty of them) and I’m so so so intrigued as to how this is going to develop because, obviously, the most fear inducing thing in the world is being known. And now Jamie’s biggest fear is not only known to him, his teammates, etc. it’s known to the entire world via social media.

    As always, your characterization is FLAWLESS. The flip in POV for this chapter was so great, because you can not only see the synchrony in how they overlap but are able to gain different insights from their two perspectives. As much as I love Jamie, my internal dialogue is very much Roy Kent-esque and I appreciate seeing someone (even a fictional character) share the same vibe of “I’m Willing to murder to show love” because I def feel that.

    From your tumblr tags, I’m expecting Roy’s sister to appear and let me say: I’m hype. For a character that I don’t think (I could be wrong) we’ve seen on screen, she is highly anticipated. Anyone who can not only be a badass doctor, a cool mom, and apparently a very good sister to the grumpy bastard that Roy is deserves to be seen more!

    Overall, I’ve read this chapter 3x since arriving home (and putting my car in park, thank you) and I can’t wait to read more!!

      SLDKFJS the 'criticism' made me laugh really hard thank you, we've all been there and it's hell XD you have my deepest condolences. i'm thrilled to hear i'm bringing a new take on the post-manchester fic genre, which i've read a few of as well, when i can get my hands on a gen one. the most fear inducing thing in the world IS being known and here we are, with the worst things jamie can imagine anyone knowing about to be known by *everyone.* it's a horrifying prospect, so naturally, i had to dig into that, especially with my existing like. fascination with sports media and publicity and the predatory nature of a lot of that kind of journalism.

      i'm so, SO pleased to hear the characterization is hitting, you don't even know. i worry so much about characterization, and it's just. augh, a delight to hear it's doing what it should. roy's pov is like. i ended up liking it WAY more than i thought i would the first time i wrote in his head, and it's a lot easier for me to get into than i'd have predicted. he's just a very fun pov for me to sit in, so we can DEF see more of him coming in the future. and yeah, 'i'm willing to murder to show love' is a STRONG theme in it sldfjs.

      and YES! roy's sister IS making an appearance, a pretty hefty one, more than once, and i really, really enjoyed writing her. i'm thrilled to hear you're excited for that. i loved writing her parts, especially as i decided to dig into the headcanon backstory i've developed for her and roy and their family and how things like... ended up the way they did with them, with roy watching phoebe all the time and what's up behind that.
