    Because you're a fanfiction writer, I'm sure you must also be a fairly avid reader of fanfiction. So you know the feeling of reading a line in a fic that is SO GOOD, that you lose your damn mind. The reaction I had to reading this line was a bit embarrassing tbh, because I was just SO PSYCHED. Like, I can't even describe how much I love this?? The build-up, the pacing, the EVERYTHING? I was hooked-- like this is definitely going to go in my list of "best first chapters", because that's what this is. An AMAZING first chapter. (And I did skim ahead a read the other 7 chapters, and I have to say, I'm obsessed). What ever filtering I used to stumble upon this story was obviously blessed by the gods, because, again, ?????? this is so good????
