  1. Yeah, it’s a pretty grim prospect…they know what to expect, I guess, but YIKES.

I like to imagine Regulus’ animagus form as some sort of (big(ish)) cat — maybe a black-maned lion, in reference to his name — mainly so I can think about Sirius and Regulus “fighting like cats and dogs” and laugh to myself. Also, the mental image of gangly puppy!Padfoot and lanky cub!Toebean* (play)fighting with their outsized paws and high-pitched growls and squeaks makes me happy.

Thank you again for such an awesome chapter! If you’d ever like a beta reader/editor, I would like to volunteer as tribute!

    * I know that wouldn’t be Regulus’ animagus nickname, but it matches Padfoot and it’d be hilarious.

    1. I've actually always been so torn over Regulus's animagus form / patronus for such a long time -- I wrote another fic wherein it was a hunting dog, but that was largely for purposes specific to that fic lol -- so I'm very interested to hear you think it would be a black-maned lion, very fitting! I think a cat of some sort is perfect for him. And the idea of him and Sirius literally fighting like cats and dogs is incredible. Re: betaing -- thank you so much for the offer!!! I may take you up on it, though I am a... very inconsistent writer so truthfully dread the idea of inflicting that upon anyone else ahahaha

      1. Honestly, I think any cat, big or small, would suit for Regulus's animagus form. I thought a lion partly because of his name, partly because of the classical/Gryffindor association with lions, and because it'd be hilarious if his animagus form is larger than his big brother's...I think Sirius would be so offended.

Re. betaing, no worries! I totally understand that writing can be a fickle art (the less said about my WIP folder, the better). If you want me to look anything over, just send it to nomoreuturns at gmail dot com. Depending on time zones and work load, I've usually got a turnaround of less than 24 hours.
