Later on in this read through Piper and Jason do realize their relationship is fake and break up. Leo even realizes it’s weird that he fell in love with someone who seemed to hate him. So that’s not the only pairing being changed as people develop differently.
There is one thing I would like to point out that you brought up in your argument. It is that Annabeth gets true over the course of the series. And that is totally true, Annabeth does get better. Lorixjake said clearly that they do like Annabeth and she and Percy will have a strong bond in this series, just familial rather than romantic.
Though that is true, Apollo does in fact get much better during the course of Lorixjake's series. He as well as the other gods start well, kind of awful, before slowly starting to see it from their kids' point of views and changing. It isn't instant, they are eternal, and so it is a slow process, but in reading Percy Jackson, Apollo becomes better.
Different people have different tastes, but that doesn't mean you should completely tear them down due to a decision you don't like. If you have no nice things to say, don't say anything at all. At least give constructive criticism rather than hating on work someone clearly put a lot of thought and effort into.
