Comment on The Seven

  1. A drawing I made

I loved it! Great read! I used to watch Bolt religiously a few years ago, but not as much anymore. This is the first fanfic I’ve ever read based on a Disney film.

    My favorite part was:

Art and culture are full of works like this: "Romanian Rhapsody No. 1" by Georges Enesco, "Trees" by Joyce Kilmer, "Washington Crossing the Delaware" by Emanuel Leutze, "Gilligan's Island," "Ghostbusters," "On the Road" by Jack Kerouac -- all are artistic statements that fall short in some abstract sense of "taste" or "quality," yet are still worth experiencing anyway. Though perhaps we don't readily admit to it.

That was honestly poetic. Great job!

    1. Thank you for the kind words — glad you liked this!

When we first see puppy Bolt in the film, he’s abandoned in a shelter surrounded by other youngsters. It’s an intriguing introduction, and got me wondering why he was there and who his parents may have been. Have to say it was lots of fun to imagine the possibilities, especially creating the friendship dynamic between Bolt and his pals and a plausible backstory that included his parents, not to mention the comic relief trio of females Blaze first encounters. Very happy to hear this worked for you.

There’s also truth to the idea that not every work of art or culture we enjoy is among the most rarified options out there. We all have our guilty pleasures mixed among the gold nuggets, me included.

Appreciate your coming by, and many thanks again!
