Comment on world's end rhapsody

  1. !! wow thank you i’m happy to hear that this fic resonated with your kim dokja fragment so to speak lol

and yes!!! you get it!!! i really wanted write something that addressed both of their trauma while still remaining lighthearted and for the most part hopeful because although i can understand and respect the opinion that both of these characters are too broken to be intimate with one another in this way, the romantic in me likes to think that they can still love and be loved by one another and their trauma is a point of relatability and connection between them rather than an agent of alienation like they’re both so used to. and i’m consistently blown away by how much care ss seemed to have put into balancing them so perfectly up until the very end. i think their dynamic has a very inherently reciprocal nature and they’ve devoted an equal amount of themselves to each other, perhaps more than any other relationship in the entire novel (though, kdj and hsy come pretty close and definitely hold a special place in my heart as well.)

…oof. sorry for rambling your comment got me all excited LOL. so thank you so much again for reading and commenting, you really made my day. 🤍

    1. I'm just sitting here thinking about your reply, it took me back to all the reasons why the ship works in a way that just makes sense even in the context of the original work. It's so true that this two gave and took from each other and it never felt unfair or one sided. Han Sooyoung and Kim Dokja's relationship is one of the best parts of the second half of the novel. Thank you for such a lovely and thought provoking reply. ORV really left such an impact on me and to see works like yours continue the story in your own way warms my heart and really adds to the message of the novel. The characters live on beyond the story and you carved out a little avenue for a humble reader like me to live with them a little while longer.
