Comment on The Seven

  1. Ok, I'll be honest, it's years since I saw Bolt, as it's on my banned list of movies (crying makes my eyes sting so most animated films are on that list!) but I could sort of feel the atmosphere and style of the movie through this story, even though it's been a while and it's mostly different characters. You did a great job of capturing the world and of creating the dogs' characters so that they're kind of human but not just animals behaving in a human way, if that makes sense. All the little subtle details like 'Oh my dog' just added to it. Looking forward to reading more of these.

    1. Thank you for the positive feedback, and glad you enjoyed this!

This being a backstory, it was an interesting challenge to imagine Bolt as a puppy, as well as to have all those OCs to juggle and make sense of. I feel pleased, though -- I think they've got personalities of their own and they interact well. Roguish Blaze, the playful pups who have to find a way to cope with a bad situation and grow up quickly (while still being youngsters), and the three randy caged females who reeeealy enjoy their work. Yeah, they were a fun bunch to write about, no question. Your observation about the characters showing some human traits but still clearly having a canine basis -- no question that made me feel great, as this is exactly what I was going for. And yeah, love "Bolt." It's one of my favorite movies, really cleverly constructed and well written, with especially memorable animal characters. I started getting story ideas shortly after seeing the film for the first time at the start of 2018 and have been writing fics for it ever since.

Very happy you stopped by, and thanks again! Come back to read more anytime.
