Downside of these stories!! It is hard to read these and not get a hug. It's hard to even get hugs at dog shelters lately (the ones in my area do not let you interact with animals before adopting them) and I think these stories are all over and hitting so hard because the world is living through a slow-motion pandemic where the resolution always seems just out of reach. I would 110% hug you if I was around, though, I am a hugger.
