I don't think the Tyrells would risk it for exactly that reason. Not that they'd be thrilled that Margaery is locked into an abusive marriage, but I think they (and by 'they' I mean Mace and Olenna) would be willing to tolerate it until Margaery had a son, and then very quickly assassinate Joffrey. The one problem with this plan would be Loras, who I think would be at Joffrey's throat the instant he raised a hand to Margaery. On the other hand, if they're going by House Baratheon following Andal inheritance customs, and not Targaryen, then a daughter of the last king should come before the king's brother. Either way I think it devolves into a power struggle between the Lannisters and the Tyrells. Thanks for your comment!
Oh, I absolutely agree with you. Unless Loras or Margaery snap. Margaery's son will sit the throne. So long as the baby survives the crib in a world of high infant mortality.
