    1. I'm glad you enjoyed how I had the knights interacting with Jon and everything. And given Brynden's history serving House Targaryen I've always figured he'd be one of the few people who could actual recognize certain Targaryen features in Jon and that he'd also be willing to keep the truth of it hidden from the world.

      1. It is very likely that many of those close to the targaryen family would be able to recognizing the Targaryen in Jon.
Even if he really takes most after his Stark anstorcy it's impossible for him not to have some trait from the Valyrian blood he has.
Both Rhaenys and Aegon had, so Jon having nothing? I wouldn't actually surprise me if his eyes actually was purple instead of grey/black..

And if you're thinking over it, Jon was kept from everyone that might had could identificere him.
I know that Jaime didn't in the Show, but he also barely saw Jon and he was probably the one who had spent less time with Rhaegar, so I give him a free card.

        1. I agree that it is highly likely that Jon would have inherited some Targaryen trait no matter how much he looked like the Starks. Personally, I've always felt that his eyes, described in the books as being so dark they might have been black, could actually be a very deep shade of purple rather than grey.

And I think it served Ned well, from the "protecting Jon" standpoint, claiming Jon as his bastard and thus keeping him all but hidden away from the world the way he did because, as you said, less chance of someone identifying that Targaryen traits he probably possesses.

          1. Weeeeeeeeiii, finally somebody agrees with me!! 👍😋😇 because I have the exact same thought.
As a bastard, nobody would really look closer at Jon, so if his eyes really was a very very very dark shade of purple nobody would notice, because nobody would care. Maybe Arya would know different.

If you're thinking over it. Barristan had could recognizing him immediately, but never saw him. Brynden never saw him, only heard about him from a prejudiced and unreliable source. Robert Baratheon, didn't see him neither, because Jon was not really "allowed" in his company. Nobody from a Loyalists house ever saw him neither. He never got a chance to leave the north and look around in Westeros before he was shipped off to the wall.

And of the only two at the Wall that had a chance to recognizing him, well one of them was conveniently enough blind and never touched his face, and the other so bitter, that he couldn't see past the name stark.
