My beta was a bit disturbed by Heinrich‘s line and asked whether he really hated his brother this much, and if so, why he then fought for him instead of getting the hell out of Prussia. To which I sad, yes, and, it‘s complicated. I‘ll definitely have a go at the Fritz and Heinrich dynamic as a central focus in the future, but for now, this will have to do, as it was impossible for me to write about Fritz during the Seven Years War without including Heinrich.
Reunion: well, quite. Hell is not other people, hell is eternity with Dad. (After losing the war.)
This chapter was the emotional turning point for me, as it introduces the inadvertent saving each other theme, and I‘m so glad you both honed in on that immediately!
