This fits so perfectly within the canon I'm disappointed the Goose & Fury show is not real. I love how familial all of these interactions are, from the Fury-Rambeau-Carters to Nat being Fury's favourite child and Tony the perpetual pain in the side (was it intentional, that so many of these interactions scream 90s sitcom shenanigans?). Great job of keeping the spirit of the film.
So a while back I noticed you left like... possibly the nicest bookmarking notes EVER on a couple fics, and I wanted to thank you but I had no way of doing it, so I had to silently stew. But now I can SAY THINGS to you, which is mostly: yo, thanks for the kind words. You rock.
And I'm glad you enjoyed this. I'm also kind of sadly disappointed that The Goose & The Fury isn't a real thing. As much as I wish I could say it was 90s sitcom intentional, I feel like that is just the vibe that Tony gives in general when you throw Fury into the mix. Honestly, Tony and Fury would be an amazing Odd Couple update, which I know is not 90s, but would have been perfect for the decade.
That's immensely flattering, so thank you! I get weird about bookmarks so I'm glad that you were appreciative of those comments. I've been a long-time fan ;)
I completely understand re: the Tony/Fury odd couple. It is one of my favourite parts of Tony's characterisation in general, and as ever you're expert at distilling so much character into vignettes (see also: Steve!)
NEVER DOUBT WE LOVE THOSE COMMENTS! Don't feel weird about them. The only time I ever get upset is when people leave shitty comments on them, which has happened once or twice. Going into the bookmarks occasionally and seeing a really nice comment is like randomly getting a birthday gift a few months after your birthday.
Thank you again! I feel like sometimes people take Tony a bit too far (which, from canon, isn't exactly a huge stretch), but my favourite version of Tony is one where he is just playing on the knife's edge of where endearing and obnoxious meet. And he's smart enough to know he's doing it ;)
