    I don't really know where to begin with my gross outpouring of deep appreciation for this fic, but I just... I really really really really enjoyed this fic. A whole lot. I read it during work actually (perhaps not a good way to start this) but it left me teary-eyed several times and I think my coworkers may have given me odd looks as emotions threatened to overwhelm my face.

    I honestly think this is the best Kurobasu fic I've ever read, not only because it's about my favourite character (ha ha), but I think that, more than anything, this is the fic I've read that's gotten the characterization, and perhaps more importantly the dynamics, between all the characters down perfectly-perhaps even better than what I get from canon because it brings it to a level where it feels real? You took where they are in canon and projected it into a natural development of how everything would be which is just, wow, one of the hardest hardest things to do about AU, canon divergence, future fic etc. etc. And that's not meant to detract from your own characterization of the characters which is superb, because you really fleshed them out and even with little details and everything really painted an excellent picture of them in my mind.

    ANd JUST your understanding of Kise really floors me because I think a lot of people don't really get it, or don't get him to the level that you do here. His weaknesses, his strengths, his concerns, the basic framework of his character are laid out so wonderfully and yet subtly. You don't underestimate or condescend to your reader either and let them figure things out and I JST REALLY LIKE THIS FIC. A LOT. And I wanted you to know that I rly appreciate this fic it's so good

      asjdkfld;js;jk wow sorry for the delay in replying but your comment was overwhelmingly sweet, thanks very much for the kind words and I'm so glad you enjoyed this! This was pretty much my first fic in the fandom (barring a bunch of quick drabbles) and in a lot of ways it does capture a lot of my first impression of the kurobasu manga and the miragen story and how I saw them going forward into the future. kise seemed like a very natural person to be the locus of that.
