Wow, this really interesting. I really like reading stories where Petunia is characterized properly without unnecessary and unfounded bashing. The way you write about her insecurities makes me sympathize with her. Feeling overlooked and underappreciated is hard for everyone but especially so for a child. I am hoping she won't turn into a bitter lady whose sadness turned into hate as she did in the books.
I like the style of narrative in this chapter. Really allowed me to tune into Petunia's point of view.
