It's been years and I have read this fic many times by now, so I figure it's about time to leave a comment. It's really good and I love it!
The way Sauron gradually goes from carelessly torturing Celebrimbor to kind of hopelessly pining after him. And how Sauron didn't even consider the possibility of having a relationship with Celebrimbor, let alone that he might be attracted to him, before it's practically shoved in his face. (Sauron: "What is thing you call feelings? I don't have those. I'm just objectively right at all times.")
And the part where Celebrimbor almost kills him and the aftermath is great. Sauron just keeps underestimating him and paying for it.
I like how he gets so tired in the later runs. And he's so stubborn it takes him literally ages before he considers changing his goals haha. The image of him sitting next to the braindead Celebrimbor really sticks with me, and those lines made me feel really bad for him. It's his own doing, as always, but still.
I liked the meeting with Celebrimbor in the end, it kind of highlighted how far he's come, so to speak (which isn't that far at all actually, but still, progress!). And Celebrimbor gets to live on in relative peace! Cant imagine he's happy about how Sauron keeps messaging him though :p Yet I still find myself hoping their relationship will improve one day.
