    I read this a few days ago and wanted to sit on it before I left a comment. But it turns out that I have not gotten any better at doing justice to how much loved this.
    Things I loved:
    Two years in and the already get each other so much that Dutch can tell there's something up with him but they're not good enough at just talking to each other about this stuff yet.
    Dutch's friendship with Pree. And his comment about the job offer not being for her any more bc she'd stab too many people.
    The banter about Johnny having women shoot him but growing to love him anyway.
    Joe around being a mentor!
    The fact that Dutch is so all in that she forgot the two year was even a thing. And that from her perspective, she's not going to leave him ever. Johnny has to leave her for things to end.
    And that Dutch's best way to say I love you/care about you is not through showy stuff, but just basic, let me teach you how to defend yourself.

      Oh, thank you so much for this lovely comment! I love these two so dearly, and loved the season premiere SO MUCH, and then was so glad to get this prompt because it would let me explore that in-between point in their relationship: the one where Dutch knows John but not quite how to talk about what's bothering them, and where they're both already 100% in but don't know how to say that either. So I'm so glad that my exploring that balance point worked for you!
