Yes, but it's not a concept which you find in many fanfictions about the MCU which is USA centred. In this universe, the heroes are pratically always from USA (the exception of Wakanda seems have been created by Marvel to aim minorities). It's logic because Marvel is a production of USA but I find that aspect disapointing. It's only an opinion and I may to be in the false...
You aren't alone. Even in the comics, unless the comic was centered around them, the American heroes were almost always more powerful and "better" than anyone not from here with some flaw that was (hypocritically) remarked about. Captain America was praised for the same thing Sunfire from Japan was faulted for: believing his country and people were better than anywhere else and Sunfire wasn't walking/flying around with his country's flag making his uniform, was he.
Yep. The Atlantean, Namor the Submariner was treated the same way, for the same reason, at times. Looking back, and I know the time/culture was different way back then, I cringe at some of the characterizations, ideas, and stories that I loved then.
