I know...poor angels... I tried to keep it as canon as possible, actually. I looked back through the post-apocalypse seasons, especially with eveything that happened with Metatron and Amara, to try and figure out "WHAT is the state of Heaven and the angels?" I made up a bunch of stuff about how grace and Heaven works, but I tried to incorporate as much canon as possible. In fact, I don't believe any angels besides Lucifer have the ability to "fly" anymore (in the show). So there's a lot that has to happen to get Heaven up and running again!! *evil cackle* Oh Bobby! I'm glad I was able to surprise people!!
