    I love this cause I've been a Shane girly from the start and all through the long game and it hurts me that even Rachel Reid doesn't make him justice.Like,she posted a list on her own Instagram listing some of Ilya and Shane's characteristics and she wrote things like"Ilya is cool,Shane is not.Ilya is very intelligent,Shane is not.Ilya is perceptive,Shane barely knows his own feelings".And I was just so disappointed.Cause how are you gonna say a character is not intelligent and then make him notice all the little details about the person he loves?He was the first one to notice Ilya signs of depression and that suggested for him to see a therapist.Like you said,he always knew when not to push him to talk when he knew it made Ilya uncomfortable .He noticed when Ilya felt bad about not being able to touch in public at Fabian's concert and put his hand in his back to make him feel better.He noticed Ilya might be tired of hiding and asked they talked about it.He immediately empathized with Ilya's feelings after their fight ,immediately apologized and gave him space.And then took action to make sure Ilya knew how truly loved he was.And what did she mean by"Shane barely knows his own feelings"when he was the first one to bring up them having feelings for each other.It's like she doesn't even know her own character.So I'm always glad when I stumble upon people writing about Shane and his feelings,the way he navigates the world and the way he thinks

      I saw your first comment pop up in my inbox and it made me giggle (I'm not a sadist I promise) and then I logged on to reply and I saw your second comment and I was just floored for a minute - all of this, you're so right. Shane is so precious to me (Ilya too obviously, I can never not love him) because I feel like he' so misunderstood sometimes and all of the beautiful details you picked up is soooo precious. I also love reading fics exploring how he thinks and the way he's a little neurotic and I love love love that he's (both of them tbh) flawed because it gives him so much depth and I hope I did that justice. Thank you so much for this comment, you've made my month <3
