    I am a sucker for some good Grandpa Garp content and this is superb. Honestly, I really feel like if Luffy or Ace ended up captured by the marines as kidd, Garp *would* go rogue to save them. Later, after they're pirates he feels like they've each made their respective choices and he's done what he can, though he's not going to haul them in himself. Not wanting to be on "opposite sides" is a big part of why he's so dead set on making them marines in the first place, as I see it.
    But if they're kids, it's purely about their blood and they never had the chance to "pick a side". Plus, they're just kids; they're not powerful enough to stand a chance without somebody's help. And, yeah, overall I just feel like this would be perfectly in character for him.

      Oh, I forgot to mention that I LOVED the bit with Ace realizing just how powerful his ridiculous, crazy Gramps is.
