Zelda is among them, and while everyone still calls her Princess, she’s not sure she wants to lay claim to an old throne. What she really wants is to move on. She wants to continue her research, to prove her worth beyond her bloodline, and to spend as much time with Link as she can…which sounds an awful lot like what she wanted a hundred years ago…

Summary
Era doesn't have high hopes for her future. Truthfully, up until a few months ago there hasn't been a future; just the blurry promise of suffering to come. The journey from villain to ex-villain to vigilante has been... rough, to put it mildly. But Era can handle it. The journey from vigilante to hero-in-training? That, she has less of a grasp on. Era doesn't consider herself to be optimistic, but she is confident in her skills and her quirk, sure that her training will carry her through anything UA has to throw at her, and that in turn UA will keep her protected from the shadowy figures of her past, the threat that lurks in the corner of her eye.
If only heroes weren't so god damned nosy, stubborn, persistent. If only she could remember to keep her useless emotions in check, avoid any unnecessary attachment, save herself and others from future pain. If only her quirk would just let her die. Funny, how that would make things so much simpler.

A story about healing from past trauma, and redeeming yourself for past actions. The writing is absolutely FLAWLESS. The author shows a clear mastery of technique, and often uses formatting and grammar to emphasize the character's emotions. The word choice is baller as fuck. The story has strong narrative through lines in the form of Era's inner monologue. But best of all are the characters-- TheHangedMan has perfectly captured the characters from MHA, whilst showing us entirely new sides of them through their interactions w/ Era. And they're not afraid to write in conflict, either!

A great case fic/ mystery with even greater character voice and POV, plus an eVEN GREATER female oc. Well-written, paced, and plotted. Great Cass POV as well!
It's pretty dang dark at times, but the author puts trigger warnings in the top notes so you can skip around the graphic bits.
Reads like swimming in a lake at night, the water dark and endless, the cicadas chirping steadily in the background. something is touching your foot.
