Mischief grew up being told he was his mama's magic baby. He grew up on stories about werewolves and banshees and witches and druids. He grew up learning not to fear the things that go bump in the night. He grew up fully believing in magic and werecreatures and things that other kids thought were just myths.
Mischief believed a little too strongly, and now his mom has a furry little polar bear cub of her very own to deal with. It was just her luck her baby boy had such a strong, vivid imagination, and the magical power to back it up.

"You poor thing," the man repeated, running his fingers through his fur.
Derek shivered, because it felt good. He had never wanted to be touched more than he did at that moment. He looked up at the man again, questioningly, as his eyesight started to regain focus. Still, he couldn't see the man's face. Something about him was keeping him from doing so. All he could garner, from the shroud in his perception that must have been caused by magic, was the man's eyes, shining through the darkness. So bright it burned.
His eyes were alpha red.
