Summary
One moment, Newt is being prepared for maze insertion, Thomas watching helplessly from the other side of the glass; the next, he is in an unfamiliar room that decidedly isn't the maze, cradled in Thomas's arms. Newt's memories between these two events are gone, but surprisingly, it seems like the swipe hasn't worked on him. He remembers his sister, his parents, his life at WCKD.
And of course, he remembers Thomas and all that they were (and are?) to each other.

TDC movie rewrite — the events start to change when instead of Newt passively learning he has the Flare, he faints like Brenda did in TST, which switches his swipe. -
