A greedy man he was, the infamous Knife of Dunwall, taking and taking and taking. Come and gone in a flash, the whole city falling apart in his wake, burying Corvo in the rubble. More blood, always more blood. Corvo feels like he'll forever be drowning in it.
Daud hasn’t stopped thinking about the one who tried to save her. The look on the bodyguard‘s face has been burned into his eyes, following him everywhere he goes. Death clings to him with cold hands: Corvo Attano, the ever-stoic Royal Protector, turned into a vicious animal by Daud’s hand. Daud regrets so much it just might kill him. He can’t wait for that day to come.
Their paths cross, then intertwine, and nothing remains as it was.

The phrase, like most things from before, was largely forgotten. All for One, however, had a fondness for old, forgotten things.
He usually applied the saying to quirks, but when The Doctor's newest subject turned out to have been thrown away by All Might? Well, All for One didn't mind applying it to a person. He had a use for the boy already, but he certainly wouldn't pass up the opportunity to show All Might exactly what he thoughtlessly discarded.
