Listen To Me!

Summary:

Izuku really wishes that his Dad would listen to what he wants.

Notes:

I didn't quite manage to get the exact quote in there... hope that's okay.

Work Text:

Izuku slammed the door open as he stormed through, his face darkened with rage. "Dad!" he yelled, "Dad, what the hell are you doing?"

"Ah, Izuku," his dad turned his eyeless face towards Izuku, "Aren't you excited? Finally, you won't have to deal with that bully of yours anymore."

"No!" Izuku snapped, "No, I'm not excited! What were you thinking? Did you put Yuuga up to this?"

"I don't understand," Dad frowned, "He was terrible to you. Bullied you. Do you not want him gone? If he is  dead, then you won't have to deal with him ever again. I can give the order for Tomura to dispatch him now, if you wish."

"No!" Izuku stamped his food, "No! Why are you always like this? You always jump right to the extreme, and I hate it!"

"Don't you want to be safe at school?" Dad asked, "Come now, once Bakugou is gone, you'll have nothing to worry about. I've heard about he has treated you... how he has been allowed to treat you. Do you want to be there when he dies? It can be a moment of triumph for you, and a moment of realization for him. It will be perfect, won't it?"

"I don't want him dead!" Izuku yelled, "You want him dead! I want the system to work! You can't always win by tearing everything down, and - and - you never ask what I want! Never ever!"

"That's not true," Dad clicked his tongue, "You want to be a hero. I'm letting you do that."

"Because it meant that I could get One For All!" Izuku threw his hands in the air, "Which I never wanted! I'll keep it now, because it's mine now, but I wanted to be a Quirkless Hero! Like Batman!"

"Batman is fictional, son."

Izuku growled. "That isn't the point. The point is that you don't listen to me, and when you do hear what I say, you misinterpret it! I don't even know if it's by accident or on purpose at this point! Just... just..." Izuku sniffled, the fight draining out of him. "Just let him go. Please. Can't you do something with public opinion instead? Why do you always jump to murder?"

"Public opinion is fickle," Dad reached out to pat Izuku on the head, "And murder will get rid of the problem. I don't understand why you're so upset by this?"

"I know you don't," Izuku sniffled, "But I am. Can't that be enough for you? Just this once?"

Dad sighed. "Alright. I'll tell Kurogiri and the others to release that cretin you're so intent on protecting."

"Thank you."

"In the middle of the Hokkaido woods."

"DAD!"

"What?" Dad tutted mildly, "I already have him in my possession, if you will not allow for him to be killed, I can at least use him to confuse the heroes."

"Seriously? Why? You could release him anywhere. Why the Hokkaido woods?"

"Because it's funny. Should I send him with some boiled crabs?"

"Is this some reference I'm not getting?" Izuku puffed up his cheeks, "Seriously?"

"...Perhaps."

"Ugh. Why don't you release him into the middle of UA's campus?" Izuku rolled his eyes, "As a power play."

"You just don't want him lost in the Hokkaido woods."

"Of course I don't! And what's with the crabs?"

"Oh, my dear sweet Izuku," Dad pat Izuku on the head again. "Don't worry about it."
