Chapter Text
He crossed out five more profiles and circled the remaining two. There were fifteen different profiles on the page and all but two were crossed out.
"Finally," he grinned, "The perfect candidates." He entered a command into his computer and pulled up his microphone. "Fetch the subjects." He said.
Eclipse watched as his kids ran around the playground. Roxanne was nearby helping watch them. Then, he heard something. A shudder went down his spine as he felt something watching him.
"Watch the kids, I'm going to go check something," he called to Roxanne.
"Okay," she called.
He walked away and could feel as whatever it was followed him. Once he was finally far enough that the kids wouldn't be involved in whatever was going to happen, he turned and scanned the area.
"I know you're there," he growled. Then, he sees it. A robot made of dark metal, lean yet obviously designed for strength.
"Come along subject 2," it said in a monotone voice.
"No way," he snarled.
The robot moved to grab Eclipse and he darted away. He pulled out a blade and attempted to drive it into the robot's arm, hoping to sever wires. His blade only glanced off. The robot grabbed onto Eclipse's back hook. He tried to struggle but the robot jabbed a hand into where Eclipse's ribs would be. A shock went through him as he powered off.
Sun was working late. He sighed as he reorganized the filing cabinet. Then, he heard a noise.
"Hello?" He called. When he didn't get a response, he stood and walked to the door. He poked his head out and called again, "Hello?"
He heard a faint clatter and began nervously looking around. When he didn't find anything, he started walking back to the office area. Then, he felt something behind him.
He just barely got a glimpse of a tall, dark shape before a shock ran through his body and everything went black.
“Finally,” he traced his fingers along the rays of the subjects, “Time for the initial scans.” He pulled out a screen and began examining the read outs. “Yes, this will be perfect.” A wicked grin spread across his face.
He motioned to his robots. They scooped up the still animatronics and began to transport them to elsewhere in the facility. He moved to go prepare for his experiments.
He stared into a glass chamber where what appeared to be a some sort of celestial phenomenon was trapped with stars swirling around. He tapped a screen connected to the containment chamber.
A reading popped up. Star power, energy readings, and various other things flashed across the screen. He entered a code and light was drawn away from the captured phenomenon and out of the room through tubes and wires.
Sun blinked slowly, attempting to regain his senses. He looked around in confusion at his surroundings.
“Where am I?” He muttered. Then everything came back and he looked around in a more frantic manner. Then, he saw Eclipse.
Eclipse was curled on the floor nearby, not moving at all. Sun crept over and nudged him.
“What is it?” He grumbled, blinking his eyes open. He immediately startled and jerked back from Sun. Sun jumped at this reaction.
“Where are we?” Eclipse growled.
“I don’t know! I didn’t even see who grabbed me,” Sun protested.
“I saw a robot, but I don’t think they were sentient,” Eclipse grimaced as he pushed off the ground and stood. Eclipse looked around the area.
The room was white without any obvious features. There were blinking lights that were likely cameras and some slight discoloration that he thought might be some sort of one way glass or possibly a door.
Eclipse attempted to access his dimensional chip to open a portal. However, he found it blocked.
“My dimensional chip is being blocked so I can’t open a portal,” Eclipse said, “What about your magic?”
“Um, let me try,” Sun attempted to summon his magic. He attempted to use the spell to open a portal, however all he managed were some sparks that quickly extinguished. “I… can’t do anything.”
“Great! That’s just great!” Eclipse threw his arms up.
Both ended up pacing opposite sides of the room, looking for any hint of a way out. Eclipse dragged his fingers along the wall, feeling for anything that would indicate a door or a weak spot.
Hours passed according to the pair’s internal clocks. Then, they heard the click. A tall, dark robot, the same kind Eclipse had been captured by, walked in.
“What do you want?” Eclipse snarled.
“The scientist wants you,” it droned. The door had slid shut behind it. It reached out for them.
Eclipse attempted to access his weapon systems, only to find them disabled. Sun reached for his magic but only managed sparks that quickly burned out. The robot seized both by the hooks on their backs. They struggled but were unable to escape.
They were carried down identical white hallways before reaching a lab. The place was sterile with various containment tubes that were opaque and they couldn’t see inside. Wires and tubes ran across the walls and ceiling.
“Welcome, my dear test subjects,” the person who greeted them was reminiscent of the creator’s drones but larger in size, “Let’s begin.”
The pair were dropped onto cold metal tables that instantly restrained them by magnets or tech or magic of some sort.
“What do you want?” Eclipse snarled.
“Why did you kidnaps us?” Sun asked.
“Well you see, out of so many dimensions and individuals, you two are the only ones I have found that are perfectly suited for my tests,” he gave them an uncanny grin.
“What are you talking about?” Eclipse asked.
“Well, I could explain, but I think I would rather let you find out on your own,” he pulled a lever and a shock went through the pair.
He stared at the powered down animatronics with a wicked smile. He grabbed a pair of cables that were attached to one of the containment tubes and attached a cable to each of them. Then, he entered a command into his console.
“Everything is going according to plan,” he muttered, “Soon, I will be able to create and control as many stars as I want.”
