Ch 1: Twilight Storms

P.S. I do plan to finish my other stories. I just hit a slump and writer's block after my mom passed away in November of last year. It really sucked. I had Hongjoong, Wooyoung and Atiny Birthday and it did not feel the same cause that whole month my mom was in the hospital. I did my best to draw strength from our boys. I do so every day now and I'm glad that they are at my side along with so many wonderful Atiny friends that I have made. I hope you like this story.

"The prisoner is to be executed, for the crime of piracy, stealing gold from his royal majesty the king of Strickland Lord Z. The vile Captain Kim Hongjoong is sentenced to be eaten by the Kraken, and slowly digested for 100 years or longer in the Krakens stomach."
The people that gathered to hear the pirates' sentence stood shoulder to shoulder, some gasped in shock, some cheered but 4 hooded figures in the crowd glared at the Judicator that read Hongjong's fate.
"We have to save him... we can't let him die like this. He was helping out the poor and trying to stop the royal guards from abusing their power." The dark hair lad said. Standing next to him was a man slightly taller with long white hair pulled into a ponytail.
The white hair man was not looking at the Judicator but at the Captain. He fiddled with a pocket watch that was in his hand and he clicked it open and looked at the time. He squeezed it closed and looked out at the ocean where a storm could be seen off the coast and it was definitely moving closer. The wind was starting to pick up, threatening to blow their hoods back.
"Soon, we just need to wait a little more. They won't execute him till later this evening, before sunset that gives us a few hours." The white hair man said.
He looked around and noticed that there was one person missing. "Wait where is....?" He turned around and looked at the two men behind him. He gave a stern look to one with red hair, this one always covered for the other.
The one with red hair looked down and then up to the stage. There was a man in a black cloak walking up and started to escort Hongjoong off the platform. "There, he made me promise not to say anything. He just wants to stay close to Hongjoong to make sure nothing happens to him. I'm sorry." He hung his head again.
"Damn it Woo... gods I hate when he does his own thing." The first mate said as he pushed a white strand behind his ear.
A hand rested on the red head's shoulder. "It's ok Yeosang, you did nothing wrong."
"Thanks Jongho... we all are worried for the captain, Wooyoung just feels he owes the Captain since the Captain saved him and me from those slave traders a few years ago. Are you mad at him Seonghwa?"
"No, I'm proud of his brave stupidity, but worried I just hope he does not get caught. We need to signal the others to be ready." He looked at Jongho. "Can you send Maddox to the others and pass the message along?"
Jongho nodded and walked over to a tree where a parrot was perched. He whispered into the parrot's ear and placed something around its foot. The bird took off and flew low at first then higher and towards the West where a ship hid waiting for word.
The Parrot landed on the shoulder of a tall man with brown hair. “RAW RAW FIXON.” The man said to the parrot.
“Raw raw Fix on, Get the ship ready, Sail around to the South West side of the Island, We can use the storm for cover. Also Black Cat went under cover on own, disguised as Guard. So be on the look out for him, don't shoot at guards that are covered, only the ones that you can see their face.” The Parrot clicked its lounge. “Treat Please”
Yunho pulled out some fruit and handed it to the Parrot. He sighed softly as he walked to the Navigator. “Take us to the South West side of the island, also Wooyoung went under cover without permission so we can't use the big guns unless we know he is clear or safe.”
“I know he does not mean to do these things, it's just the way he is. I'll talk with him later.”
San barked out some orders and the ship started to sail toward its destination.

Wooyoung followed the other guards as they escorted the prisoner to his cell. “You, take the first watch for now. We are gonna get some food.” Said one of the guards in more elaborate clothes, Woo assumed he was a general so he just saluted.
Once they were out of sight Woo turned to see Hongjoong leaning against the wall. “Captain,” he whispered low.
Hongjoong lifted his head and looked up and threw messy orange hair that was clinging to his face. A face that was cute and bruised from a beating most likely. Blood was tired on his cheek and one of his eyes was turning black and blue. “Woo?” Came a weak horse voice. He slowly walked over to the bars.
“Ohhh damn Captain they really did a number on you. Do you want me to heal you a little?” He asked, reaching a hand out to the captain's cheek.
“No…. They will notice that. Woo what are you doing here?” He asked, sounding grateful and annoyed.
‘We are here to save you. We have a plane.” He smiled a toothy smirk.
“Do I want to know?” Hongjoong asked, arching a brow. “Does Seonghwa know you're here?”
“No… wait… maybe. I snuck off and blended in with the other guards.” He smiled softly. “Just hold tight, and when I give the signal you run for the cliff's edge and if everything is in order you should see the ship and jump and they will catch ya.”
“Why does that sound like a bad plan? What about the Kraken they would have summoned it.” Hongjoong stated the obvious.
“We have a plan for that too.” Woo said with a smirk.

The storm was on top of them, they were not expecting it to be this bad, the plan was already fucked and nothing was going right. The only thing that did go right was the ship was in place, however it was struggling to stay at its location.
Seonghwa had killed the last of the guards and turned to Hongjoong and Woo. “Get the captain to the ship. I'll be right behind you.”
“Im not leaving you behind, you get your ass to the ship…. That's an Order.” Hong said his eyes never leaving Seonghwa face.
Hwa nodded his head and he turned to face the giant beast that was setting its sights on their ship.
Woo was running to the cliff's edge with Hongjoong and he pulled a feather out of his pocket and placed it in the captain's hand. “Hold tightly onto that. Don't activate it till you get close to the ship's sail. Mingi will be ready with a rope.”
Hong nodded his head, just then thunder crashed and the Kraken roared loud and he looked up to see a large tentacle coming toward them. He pushed Woo out of the way back toward the path they had come.
Woo rolled on the ground and when he looked up Hongjoong had jumped off the cliff but the tentacles pushed him further than intended. “CAPTAIN….” //Mingi…. The tentacles hit the Captain i think… he went over the cliff can you see him. //
//I see him…. I'll get him.//
Woo turned to see Seonghwa running up one of the Krakens Tentacles, a wooden box under his arm. Suddenly a tentacle wrapped around Hwa's leg.
“Fuck…. Nooooo….Hwa…..” Woo started to sprint fast, he tossed 2 daggers at one of the tentacles near him and dodged another. He watched as another tentacle wrapped around Seonghwa’s right arm and it started to pull at the man.
“AHHHHHH” Hwa cried out in pain.
“Let him go, you beast.” Woo pulled out a sword and cut at the tentacles around Hwa's foot, slicing it clean off. The beast roared louder and started to pull Seonghwa toward his mouth.
Hwa cried out in pain as the sharp claws in the suckers dug into his skin tearing at the flesh. “Woo get out of here I got this.” Hwa called out.
“No…. I know what you're thinking and I won't let you do this. You're not gonna die and leave the Captain alone. He was already a mess the last time you got hurt.” Woo stabbed the tentacle that held Hwa, this one was large so he used his daggers as a hold point. He felt them being pulled closer to the Kraken. “Shit…. Shit shit.” He took the box from Hwa. “I have an Idea.” He sat on the tentacles and used his dagger to cut the appendage.“Take a deep breath when this thing flings us up.” He tied a rope around his waist and Seonghwa's waist, then took his dagger and flung it at the Krakens eye, hitting it square center. He saw the moment and pressed the gems on the box in a certain order, he took the box and tossed it into the Krakens mouth, he pulled Seonghwa closer and pulled out the mans pistol and shot at the section he cut into, the flesh started to tear more.
The Kraken howled and waited and the two men were flung through the air like rag dolls. The tentacle tore more and suddenly there was a loud explosion and the force of the blast sent them through the air as the last of the flesh tore and sent them into the ocean.
Woo took a large breath and the moment he hit the water he started to feel Seonghwa slip out of his arms. He started to swim up toward the surface. //Help…. We need help…..// Woo sent out.
He started to pull at the rope and he looked into the water and saw Hwa and the man was not moving. Swam down and wrapped an arm around Hwa.
A dolphin suddenly appeared under them and grabbed the rope and started to pull them back toward the ship.
They broke the surface and the Dolphin shifted into a human with black hair, it was Jongho. “I got them… toss down the ladder.”
They grabbed the ladder and were pulled up.
“HWA….” Hong saw the man unconscious on the deck of the ship. He sank down to the mans side and held his head.
Woo started to pull the tentacle off Hwa's arm and cursed loud. “FUCK…. the claws had poison, Yunho can you cure it or stop it.”
Yunho looked in his bag and started to search for an antidote vile. “No…. It's kinda rare we never came across anyone that sold it.”
They all knew that some Krakens had a rare poison in their claws, usually it was the ancient older ones and it was deadly.
Yeosang looked at Seonghwa and his eyes started to glow gold, he saw a green line moving slowly up Seonghwa's crushed and damaged arm. He knew what that was and had little time to react. He turned to Jongho who was putting his shirt back on after being pulled aboard with Woo and Hwa. “Jongho heat my sword up.” he said, holding his blade out toward his ship mate.
“What?” Jongho looked at the lad that held the sword out towards him.
“Just do this please…. He's gonna die… I know how to save him.” Yeosang said back panic in his voice, eyes still gold as he looked from Jongho back to Seonghwa.
Jongho nodded and took hold of the sword and it started to turn red. “Yunho get ready.”
Before anyone could react Yeosang swung the sword down toward Seonghwa's arm and severed it just below the shoulder.
Yunho gasped just as loud as the others that were on the deck, but he shook it off and knelt down and cast a spell to seal and heal Hwa's arm. “Keep the Tentacle and his arm, I want to study the toxin.” Yunho said as he looked at Wooyoung. “Are you ok, did it get you?” He tied his sash around Hwa's stump of an arm.
Woo shook his head. “No it did not get me.” Woo looked at Yeosang and could see the lad was shaking a little now.
“I'm sorry…. But I could see the poison was moving up in his arm. I only had one chance to cut before the poison could travel to his heart.” Yeosang dropped his sword.
“It's ok you did good, Yeosang, it's better he is alive with one less arm then dead.” Hongjoong said. Cradling Seonghwa's head, caressing his cheek.
“Let's get him down stairs, and let's get out of here” Yunho lifted Hwa into his arms, Jongho led Yeosang away and Woo stood up and ran to the helm and saw San. “Yunho said to get us the hell out of here.”
San nodded and spun the wheel and the ship turned and he used the wind of the storm to take them away from the chaos and possibly a few ships gearing up to give chase. San knew which way to go even if it seemed like they were lost, thankfully the rain stopped and the wind was pushing them further away.
Woo stayed next to San for the next 3 hours not saying anything, just standing close to his side. Once the wind started to settle down and the storm was starting to be behind them Woo spoke. “Are you mad?” Woo asked in a soft voice.
San pulled a lever and the wheel locked in place, he turned and pulled Woo into a tight embrace. “Yes I'm mad at you, but I'm so relieved you're alive too, please stop doing stupid things like this. We had a plan, why did you do your own thing?”
“I was scared they try to kill the Captain and the execution announcement was just for show. I just wanted to make sure he was ok.” Woo said, burying his face in San's chest. “I'm sorry I worried you.”
San held Woo tighter. “Shhh it's ok i know how much the captain means to you.” He gently soothed Woo's hair and back.
“Theres something else…. I did not want to say anything at first but If any of the Kings ships come for us…. I saw him San…. One of the soldiers that was part of ‘recruiting/ kidnapping’ all the young men in my village. The one that tortured and….. hurt me and Yeosang. He was dressed like an admiral so he must have gotten a promotion.” Woo started to tremble.
Sans hold tightened and he kissed at Woos cheek and then across his jaw to his soft lips. “Shhhh you don't have to speak of the matter if you don't want to. Did he see you?”
“No, I had my illusion up. I want him to pay San.” Woo looked up into San’s eyes, as his filled with tears. “I want to carve every layer of flesh off his body for what he did to Yeosang and me. I want him to suffer for months just like he made us suffer, starving us, hitting us, torturing us…. Yeosang still has nightmares about it. He wakes up screaming and crying and all I can do is hold him and tell him it's alright that he is safe. But if that bastard gives chase then eventually Yeosang will need to know.”
San cupped Woo's cheek. “We will tell him when the time is right. For now don't worry, I will protect you and Yeosang.” He kissed Woo softly once again.
“Hey go ahead and take a break San, I got it from here.” A voice said coming down from the crows nest, dropping down in the middle of the ship.
“Thanks Mingi… I'll send Jongho up to help keep watch.” San said with a soft smile.
“And food, I'm starving. Also is Seonghwa going to be ok?” Mingi asked softly.
“Yes, for now, the arm being severed was the only way to stop the poison from spreading. It will take some adjusting.”
“Wooyoung.” Mingi said, seeing the lad about to walk away. “Thank you…. For saving the Captain, for making sure Seonghwa came back to us as well. Your part of this crew and family. If you ever need a break even for a night…. We all care about each other and Yeosang is also a part of this Family, maybe we can take turns sleeping near him in case he has a nightmare again. We all want to help any way we can. You carried that burden for a long time so let us help lighten it for you.”
Wooyoung felt his jaw slack, he felt his chest tighten and the tears started to fall all at once. He nodded his head. “That be nice… It's hard sometimes cause I really try to calm him down but I don't know what to do. Even I have my nightmares but I don't tell him cause I already know he has suffered enough” Woo tried to stop the tears but they just kept falling.
/Jongho , can you bring Mingi food? He's taking over the helm and can you bring Yeosang with you as well above deck. Wooyoung needs a moment to himself. I'm gonna take him to the lower level of the ship./ San said to Jongho through their mind.
/Got it, Yeosang kinda attached himself to me anyway so it wont be to hard to convince him./
San led Woo down many levels of steps till they were at least 3 levels below the top deck. San led Woo to a pile of pillows in the back corner where a large Bay Window was and they could see the stars. San pulled Woo into his lap and allowed the lad to snuggle closer. “Just relax, cry or talk whatever you do. I'll be right here. You can even sleep and I'll hold you all night if I have to.”
Woo nodded his head and he snuggled into San's chest, he cried as much as he could till there were no tears left to fall, till he exhausted himself and soon fell asleep in Sans arms.
