Chapter Text
"-then, i saw them KISSING! Test-Tube, they were kissing! I swear on my life i saw it happen. Salt and Pepper are a thing now!"
"You sure you're not seeing things? you were probably hallucinating in that hospital bed."
Fan instinctively touched at the new paper that had been sewn onto him, which gave him shivers every time. As it was still settling into his own paper.
"I'm positively sure, you'll see me being right the next time you see the two. Mark my words."
Fan watched Test-Tube tinker with a device on the table, only to remember he had no clue what he was doing there anyway.
"...Wait, why am i here again?"
Test-Tube turned fan around on the spinny chair he was sitting on. Showing him a large object with a cloth over it.
"During the snowstorm, i got this strange thought in my head. Like blueprints. And sure, i COULD have notified the OSC about it. But they were too good to risk wasting time about it."
She pulled off the cloth, revealing the machine. It looked like a giant fusion reactor. Or at-least, that's what Fan thinks it looks like. He isn't thinking right.
"Woah... What is it exactly?"
"Remember when i made a time-travel device? Well, this is more than that. it can travel whole UNIVERSES! Hopefully, i have zero clue if it'll work. Which is why i brought you here, you bring good luck with these sort of things."
"Aww... Tube. What a thoughtful remark, truly."
Test-Tube's liquid bubbled a little, slightly out of Fans sight.
"A-Ahem.. Yes. i- Thanks. Heh.. Oh yeah! Now all i gotta do is get a power source. Which we don't have. Obviously, Shimmer energy is off the table. Even if helps us find a way of recovery."
Fan looked around the lab, she definitely didn't have anything that powerful.
Except for a glowing rock along a mess on the floor nearby.
"Hey- uh. Tube? Is that supposed to be glowing?"
"What's glowing?"
Fan pointed to the direction of the glow, it was purple and had strange patterns on it. Test-Tube waltzed over and picked it up.
The mysterious gem felt strong. She went to put it back down, only for it to immediately charge up nearby devices that were low on power. Nearly flooding the lights with power.
"Golly! I don't remember having this, strange. But I'll use what i have!"
As Test-tube went to plug wires into the rock, Fan could've sworn he saw a silhouette of a number on the wall-
"Annnd- Done! Now all i need to do is turn it on!"
She flipped the switch, only for nothing to happen.
"AAaargh... What? This is supposed to be WORKING. OKAY?! What, did i miss a wire? A step? Did i not commit those blueprints to memory enough or something?! I couldn't have missed something big-"
Fan walked to Test-tube, comforting her with a pat on her glass.
"Hey, how about we deal with this later? It's been a while since we've been able to talk like actual adults, specifically without feeling like we're being filmed."
"Mmm... Yeah, whatever. Sure. this machine was destined to be a failure anyway. Suppose we should get some lunch."
The two held hands and walked out of the lab together.
Test-Tube hadn't un-flipped the switch. Because of this, it began to spark more and more.
---
"-the next dream was even weirder, apparently i was this Psycho killer version of myself. I think i killed Test-Tube, then Magnet and Cammy? I was being so weird to Jack too. It was crazy."
"Tapey, you need serious therapy."
"WE all do, Spikey. She isn't the only one. Though i wish the part about Cammy dying happened, that sounds fun."
Teddy-Bear giggled to herself after saying that, gosh did she want that Mephone worshipping IDIOTIC PRICK IN A LOT OF-
Fan and Test-tube wandered into the Reality restaurant, getting their seats from Taco at the main entrance.
"Oh-OHOH- Look! It's the 'Not-a-couple-yet-but-definitely-a-couple' people! When do you think they'll get together?"
"Wait, they aren't a couple? They have a kid. Bot, Right?"
Teddy-Bear pushed Spikey to the side to get to Tapey.
"Maybe they are together, but just haven't been public about it. Like the Coin guy and that balloon. Fuck, what's the coin guy's name?"
"TEDDY! You can't swear!"
She stared deadpanned at Spikey.
"We aren't on a show. We aren't being filmed. You don't need to have a filter."
"That brings up a good question, since we were generated by Mephone. Are we capable of s-"
B O O M
An explosion rang from across the island, everything began shaking. The lights started to flicker. Then it stopped. The sky outside changed from a light-blue to a dark mud.
The devices they all carried went off at once, alerting every member of the OSC to meet up at the mansion.
"Perfect timing, Spikey. Ask that question to Test-Tube after we all die and end up in Meafterlife again."
She got up out of the seat and went with everyone else in the restaurant to the Mansion.
--
Cabby, Suitcase and OJ stood at the announcement platform.
"Everyone, please! Calm down."
OJ tried, but nobody listened.
"NONSENSE! ORANGE JUICE, THE SKY HAS CHANGED! IT IS OUR DIVINE JUDGEMENT- OW!"
Candle whacked Cammy in the lens.
"Cammy, your rambling will not help us solve the mystery of what happened."
Cabby rolled over to the (Newly installed) Microphone of the platform.
"A H E M! We do not know what has happened to the sky, or where the island has ended up. But Fret not, we'll be safe and okay. The OSC is here to protect you."
Part of the sky's new slime-like nature dripped down, narrowly missing Cabby.
"Well, I for one don't FEEL safe. The sky's dripping with.. EUGH, Weird liquid. I doubt most of us would feel SAFE. File Cabinet.
Silver-Spoon rambled on, because apparently his voice mattered.
"How about this? Today's challenge is to explore our surroundings. The first 3 teams to figure out where we are, how to get back and what happened will be safe. The last team to do so will be up for elimination. Sound fair? Everyone not participating will help defend the island from anything we might encounter."
The crowd of objects began nodding, some more nervous than others. But mostly okay with the fact that the island itself moved.
--
"Its my fault. All my fault. All of it, every last bit of it. Gee willi- No, this doesn't deserve my slang. Ughhh..."
Fan gently rubbed Test-Tube on the side. Bringing her some comfort.
"H-Hey! Don't beat yourself up about it, the contestants are going to figure out where we are, whilst they do that. We can work on getting this thing working again."
"Are you sure they'll be alright? Maybe Cabby was a little too quick about this."
"Oh- Ptth.. They'll be fine!"
--
"AAAAGGGGH!!! BUGS! SO. MANY. BUGS!"
Trophy and the rest of 'Go-Big-Or-Be-Last' encountered a mass of bugs whilst moving toward a strange building in the distance. Trophy is obviously not built for this.
"We could've just chosen to NOT go first, Y'KNOW!"
"Run. RUn. RUN! THESE THINGS ARE TRYING TO BITE US!"
Trophy grabbed Goo, running with the rest of the team.
Just then, the sound of a horse came through. And then, a blue colored horse leapt toward them. Knocking away the bugs around them.
Lifering threw themselves onto the strange horse, hugging it tightly.
"Oh thank you, mysterious savior! You saved us!"
"Yeah, wasn't just the Forse. Dummy."
"Who- What? Who's there? I don't see anyone."
"Not everyone's the same size."
Box looked down and found the source of the voice first, a small and fiery object.
"... What? Why are you all just staring at me? Whatever, Golf Ball and Tennis Ball told me some giant mass of land teleported here. You the idiots who did that?"
Box got in-front of Lifering to talk to the smaller object.
"We didn't exactly mean to do this, we assume one of our friends did it by accident. Can you tell us where we are?"
"You're in Goiky, You are DEFINITELY from far away if you don't know that. My name's Firey Junior, Although I'm not related to Firey at all. Blame the writers."
"Blame who-"
"Stop talking and follow me. We're trying to get the HPRC fixed at the moment, so it'd be great for you to not die as we get to the hotel."
"HPR-"
"OHMYGOSH- JUST SHUT UP AND FOLLOW THE FORSE! STAYING OUT HERE ANY LONGER JUST TO KEEP TALKING IS STUPID!"
Everyone shut their lips. Following Firey Jr and the 'Forse' toward the hotel in the distance.
