Chapter 1: One

Chapter Text

Draco’s head vibrated with the deep baseline of the latest muggle song that filled the club. His shirt was clinging to his sweat soaked body. Whatever drug Nott had procured for this weekend's antics had his jaw clenching and his heart pounding.

Leaning over the sink he splashed some water on his face, trying to calm his nervous system down.

“What the fuck is this stuff, Nott?!” He shouted through the cubicles.

“They call it Molly! Said we’d be glad to meet her!” Theo shouted back, exiting the cubicle and washing his hands.

High or not, bad hygiene was something Draco frowned upon.

“Mate, your eyes are like dinner plates,” Nott laughed as Draco leaned forward to examine his pupils in the mirror.

He was right; they were huge.

“Do you want to split another pill?” Draco grinned, not wanting this feeling to fade.

“Are you sure? I’m pretty buzzed right now.” Shrugged Theo.

“Oh, go on, what’s the harm?”  Draco retorted, dealing his half and holding the other out in his index finger to Nott.

He took the pill, swallowing down with a swig of vodka and lemonade.

Nott followed suit, grimacing at the burn.

“Come on let’s go dance, I expect you to pull at least three girls before we even think about going home!” Draco bounced on the balls of his feet, already feeling the pill kicking in.

The music surrounded them.

Draco felt every beat in his bones.

Felt every inch of skin pressed up against him on the packed dance floor.

Felt the heat from Theo’s arms flung around his neck.

Tasted the salt in the air from the sweat dripping off him and Theo.

Tilting his head to the mirrored ceiling, he grinned.

Fuck he felt good. Every touch felt electrified. Sending sparks over his skin and making his magic tingle and send chills down his spine.

Draco and Theo danced for what felt like hours. Only stopping to snatch shots of brightly coloured liquid off of passing waitresses, shoving too many muggle notes into the tight shorts and overly filled bras.

“Mate, it’s so hot in here, I’m going out for a smoke!” called Draco over the music.

Not that Theo was paying much attention when he had a very leggy blond shaking her arse over his crotch.

Rolling his eyes, he pushed his way through the crowd and out the side door to the smoking area.

The august air hit his skin, bringing gooseflesh over his chest where he had popped a few buttons to try and get some relief from the sweltering heat of the club. Pulling a cigarette from the packet, Draco leaned over the railings and lit it. Inhaling the nicotine deep enough to make his head spin.

Whoever ‘Molly’ was, he was glad she was here. She made it feel like all the darkness had been sucked from the world leaving only the light. That everyone was his friend, that they wanted to be here with him. He shivered with what he could only describe as pure joy.

He felt on top of the world.

Not even the brand that forever marred his left arm could bring him down.

He pulled his wrist in front of him and checked the time, 1:30am, still early.

The door behind him banged, Theo falling through it gasping for air.

“Draco, DRACO! YOU WILL NEVER GUESS WHO IS HERE!” Nott panted, struggling to focus his eyes.

“Prince Harry?”

“Don’t be silly Draco, I’m being serious!” Theo stared at him, the excitement visibly coursing through him enhanced by the drugs.

Draco rolled his eyes at his best friend, “Go on, enlighten me.”

“Hermione Granger.”

Dracos’ heart sped up; pumping the ecstasy around his body, swaying his vision, and making his mouth dry.

“You’re lying,” Draco said.

“Nope.” Theo replied, popping the p.

“And she looks like a snack,” he winked.

Draco didn’t know what to do with himself. His hands were shaking. The pill was kicking in fully now, taking the little self control he had left and throwing it to the wind.

“Well? What are we waiting for?” he smirked, pulling Theo back through the door.

Theo dragged him back through the club to the bar.  His eyes searched for her all the way. Just wanting to catch a glimpse.

He could hear his pulse in his ears, adrenaline coursing through him. His magic sparking and turning the air around him static.

‘Look, there she is.’ Theo pointed once they got to the bar.

He turned around and ordered drinks while Draco zeroed in on her.

There she was, in all her glory.

Her once bushy hair now in sleek waves down her back, stopping at the drop in her waist, her body clad in a silver dress that must have been utilising at least seven different sticking charms to save a number of slips. It hugged her breasts and dropped down to her sternum at the front and was completely backless down to the swell of her backside. Her long legs accentuated by heels that wrapped around her ankles with  snake headed claps.

Granger threw her head back and laughed at something the red head standing next to her said. Showing off the blush to her cheeks, that plump bottom lip stretched over perfect teeth as she smiled. Her long, glamoured lashes brushing the tops of her cheeks as her eyes closed.

Draco couldn’t tear his eyes away.

“I’m going to go talk to her!” he shouted to Theo

“Mate, I don’t think that’s a good idea, you’re fucked!” he replied, grabbing Dracos arm to keep him in place.

“No you don’t understand, My heart, it feels like it’s going to jump out of my chest!”  Draco placed his own hand over his heart to emphasise.

"It's just the drugs, honestly, that’s what it does. It makes everyone loving and caring and feel like they could spill their deepest darkest secrets to a stranger on the tube!” Theo looked at him, pleading with his eyes to not make a fool out of himself.

“Okay, but I need to move or I feel like I might explode!” he laughed breathlessly.

Salazar, these pills were strong.

Where did Theo even get them?

How much did he pay for them?

Knowing Theo, they were top quality, so Draco didn’t even think twice before popping another and heading to the dance floor.

He looked behind him hoping to catch just one more look at her, but she wasn’t there. He did however feel a pair of honey whiskey eyes on him as he lost himself to the music and let the ecstasy take control.
