Work Text:

The shooting range was one of the very rare good Kiramman ideas, she had to give her that. Or at least, it was on paper. They only managed to prove that Caitlyn was more accurate at long distance, Jinx was faster at hitting moving targets, and they seemed to be equal at medium range, when the pent up tension finally had to give.

“Nope, fuck it, that is not enough.” Low caliber ammo, only a few bullets left, but enough to make her point. She aimed at Caitlyn, who looked more annoyed than scared. “I hate your fucking guts and we’re never going to get along.”

“Obviously. But we can be cordial, and, you know, not try to murder each other any time we are in the same room.” It seemed her ‘aiming a gun at Caitlyn’s face’ trick was losing its effect every time she didn’t take the shot, as Caitlyn remained infuriatingly stoic and composed.

“And you thought handing me a gun would help with that?”

“I’m an idealist, I thought you’d at least try for Vi.”

“Do you or do you not have a hole in your forehead? Clearly, I am trying.”

“Incredible. I’d roll my eyes right now, but I am not letting the barrel out of my sight.” Hilarious.

“It’s not like this shitty ammo could kill you, anyways.” Maybe Caitlyn wasn’t that stupid, and made precautions against Jinx jinxing it. Or maybe that’s normal ammo for shooting ranges Topside, not like she could ever know.

“No, but I fancy having both eyes, and you’re too good a shot to take that risk.”

“Oh, I think you’d rock an eyepatch.” Where did that come from? Wasn’t she mad at her? Why was she mad at her?

Caitlyn kept looking at her gun.“Why are you so bothered? Vi is with you now. You got what you wanted. What is your problem with me?”

Jinx huffed. “You wouldn’t understand.” Especially since Jinx didn’t either.

“Put the gun down, Jinx.” Who did Caitlyn think she was, to talk to her in that tone? And where was her gun?

Oh. She lowered it. Weird.

“Thank you.”

She barely registered it, as she once again scanned the room for escape routes. Why was it getting so hot in here? She felt trapped, that must be it.

She threw the gun at Caitlyn, and while she ducked, Jinx jumped through the window. It was unlocked. Amateurs.

*****

“Well. That went better than expected.” Caitlyn muttered half to herself, as Jinx ran.

“It did?” Seraphine asked, exiting the closet she was hiding in.

“The place is still standing, so yes, I would consider this a success. Thank you for keeping tabs on Jinx’s… headspace.” Caitlyn still wasn’t quite sure how her whole hearing souls stuff worked, but she had enough first hand proof to trust in it, and in her friend.

“I tried my best! But honestly, she is harder to decipher than half my concert audience at once.”

“Wait, so you didn’t know if she wanted to actually kill me?” Did she risk her life on that?

“No, no! She was angry, bothered, a bit horny, an-”

“Hold up. What was that?”

“A bit horny. It happens, you were too.”

“I- doesn’t matter. I think it’s her normal reaction to being around guns.”

“Um, no, she was around them this whole time and that spiked when you told her to put hers down and-”

“Okay! Thank you Sera, really. Please go.”

“Well that’s rude.” It really was.

“You’re right, I apologize. But I need some time alone, I think.”

“Fine, fine. We still up for the weekend?”

“Yes.”

“Bye bye.” And she left. Leaving Caitlyn with some dangerous thoughts to unpack.

*****

“I fucking hate her, why can’t I kill her, again?” Jinx was running around the living room of Vi’s (and her) place.

“It’d make me sad.” Vi, sitting on the couch, patiently explained. “Also, the enforcers would make another manhunt for you.”

“Ugh. Fine.” She was almost as big a softie for Vi as Sevika was for her. It was best to not mention how exciting a prospect of another manhunt was. She didn’t have many outlets for that kind of energy recently, Mundo’s occasional visit notwithstanding.

“I’m glad. But what is your problem with her now? You got me, wasn’t that what you wanted?”

“Yes! And I’m happy about that. But she is just… so infuriating.”

“Infuriating how?”

“Always acting like she is better than me, than us!”

“Yeah, that’s… a whole thing. Piltie privilege.”

“And her stupid, annoying, hot accent, her stick-up-her-ass manner of speech, her-”

“What was that?” Vi missing the point as always.

Jinx rolled her eyes. “I have ears, Vi. And eyes too. I may hate her guts, but she is still smoking hot.”

“Is that what this is about? Jealousy?”

“No!”

“Well, just in case, I think you’re even hotter.”

“Yeah, right.” Jinx was delusional, but not about that.

“I’m serious. You think I banged a blue haired markswoman by accident?”

“Very funny, you didn’t even want me before I started it.”

“Yeah, because I was repressing this since I first saw you after Stillwater? It’s not like I had a lot of time to reflect on that at first, and then I found a good enough replacement, which made it easy to ignore.”

“Well, regardless, she took you from me for months, and-”

“Powder. I love you, so much. But you did kidnap us both and tied us to chairs, and asked me to execute her. I needed some space to work through that. And you really can’t blame Caitlyn for not being happy with you afterwards.”

She was right, of course. It was all Jinx’s fault. She always jinxed everything and-

No. She was getting better. She did a fucked up thing and worked to make it up to Vi. They were fine now.

“You’re right. I’m sorry.”

“I know. And it’s fine now. But I needed someone, and Caitlyn was there for me.”

“I guess.. that’s forgivable.”

Vi smiled at her, and ruffled her hair. “I am so proud of you, Jinx.”

Jinx leaned into it, and took the opportunity to kiss her sister. “I still am so… so wired, are you sure I can’t go blow her up?”

“Oh, I know you well enough to see this is not anger.”

“It’s not?”

“Come on.” She led Jinx to their bedroom. Huh. A less destructive way to let out the energy. Usually.

*****

Jinx really wasn’t joking, she was wired as fuck. So much that a fuck didn’t seem enough. They were now done, and Vi could see her still vibrating with… something.

“You okay there?” She asked, trying to gently rub Jinx’s arm, who flinched at the contact. A bad sign.

Jinx turned to face her. “I think I want to bang Caitlyn.”

“Wow, time and place, Pow.” It was amusing, but Jinx seemed genuinely guilty, so Vi decided not to tease her about it anymore. “But sure, if you want to.”

“Wait, what? You aren’t mad?”

“Like you said, she is hot. And I had my share of Cupcake dining, it’s only fair.”

Thanks to their shimmer glow, it was easy to tell in the darkness that she rolled her eyes. “You’re not jealous?”

“Well, you did literally just sleep with me, so no, not really.”

“Good, because I never would.” Jinx was quick to reassure her, though she didn’t need to. “Sleep with her, I mean.”

“Seriously? Why not. Do what you gotta do, get it out of your system. We can all see that threats aren’t enough for that.”

“Wha- I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“Powder.” She wasn’t sure if Jinx had some extra night vision or not, but she did look into her eyes. “I know you. I may not be the best at reading people, but I am the best at reading you.”

Jinx huffed. She liked to do that a lot. “Too good. Well it doesn’t matter, because she would never agree to that anyways.”

“You sure about that?”

“What are you talking about?”

“Well, another person I am good at reading is Cait. And I’ve seen the way you two look at each other.”

Jinx took a moment to respond, the pink lights getting a bit smaller. “Do you just want a threesome?”

“Oh! Yeah, sure, sounds great. But if you prefer to go alone, I’m fine with that too.”

She felt Jinx pounce at her and pin her to the bed. “You’re impossible.”

“Hmm, how so?” She didn’t really know how, and she wanted to finish this conversation before they get distracted again.

“You can be so… dense sometimes,” A diplomatic way of putting that. “and here you are, reading us both like an open book.” She seemed to reconsider it. “If you’re right about Caitlyn, that is.”

“Oh, I am. Trust me on that.” She was with Cait for long enough to recognize her arousal from a hexmile away.

Jinx finally let her go, and she sat up, as Jinx seemed… nervous. “And… you’re really fine with it?” Powder finally asked. “This isn’t some fucked up test to see what I do?”

“Of course not. Remember when Caitlyn cheated on me?”

“And you didn’t give a fuck?”

“And I didn’t give a fuck. Why would now be any different? Scratch that, it is, because we’re talking about it before you sleep with someone else.”

“I- I can see your point.”

“Great.” They sat in silence for a moment, before Vi broke it. “So, what do you want to do?”

“Let’s fuck your ex girlfriend together.”

“That’s my girl! Should we go ask her together?”

“Seems like the best way to not get shot.”

“We’ll go in the morning.” Another moment of silence.

“Come cuddle?” Jinx laid back down at some point, though she wasn’t quite sure when, and was now looking at her very expectantly.

“You don’t even have to ask.” Vi responded, already leaning back.

Notes:

and then they BOINK THREESOMLY. After a conversation, probably. But listen. How the FUCK do you talk to your ex about sleeping with her and your sister. Beats me. If you have an idea, feel free to write it, I will add it to the series.
