11:00 am
The night club is the last place Thomas wanted to be in but by the luck of his unluckiness every other bar was closed for the night except this one. Even with his misfortune he was lucky enough to practically have the entire bar side to himself as most of the people there were enjoying the dance floor and what not.
Slumping on one of the many stools empty at the bar he sighed, not exactly in frustration but in defeat. Why did he have to feel this shitty seeing his best friend love the one he longed for, who was he to feel like this when he was the true coward? His train of thought crashes down as the bartender approaches him.
"What can I get you tonight, Thomas?"
That voice sounded a little too familiar for his liking, he lifted his head slightly, finding the right posture to look at the person behind the bar. To his surprise he was greeted with a knowing smile from none other than Micro, he had not seen the white haired man in a very long time. The drug business in college must have been tough for him to land as a bartender.
"Micro? Haven't seen you in a while man.."
He smiled slightly, his mood lifting slightly seeing an old friend be in a better position than he was in.
"Yeah it really has been a while after college huh? What are you feeling tonight, it's on me."
Micro offered happily, wiping down a glass for Thomas, hands moving gracefully around the bar he knew like the back of his hand now.
"Whatever is strong.. I just need to drown something out.."
Thomas didn't mean to sound so pathetic but it was inevitable with his slightly down and pouty face. Micro nods as he quickly whips up some ovenproof rum for his dear friend Thomas.
"Trouble in paradise or am I reading this wrong?"
Despite the years apart Micro still felt like he knew Thomas well enough to know he never sulks like this if not for a failing love, he knew Thomas was quick to get up on his feet towards other kinds of problems Thomas was resilient but when it came to his longing heart he yearned like no other and once his heart is crushed it was hard for him to get back up like all the other times.
"Kind of a long story but you could say that.." A long breath followed before Micro's soft scoff pierced through. "I'm all ears if you're up for it, besides I'd be happy to be the victim of your drunk ramblings just like always."
Thomas couldn't help but smile at that, exhaling the breath he didn't realize he was holding. Slowly he slumped against his hand, leaning on his palm, the air seemingly shifting from an empty bar to the familiar atmosphere he missed way back in college.
"Where do I even begin.." Those were the last normal sounding words Micro would be hearing for a while as it didn't take long for Thomas to start slurring his words.
"Like.. seriously was it soo hard to tell me HE liked someone I liked….." Micro can only simply nod at his friend's antics yet behind each shimmer of glass he cleaned stared a face full of hidden feelings underneath back at him. Micro always knew Thomas had a crush on his brother—practically his twin, Saparata, back then he tried his best to set them up together but his little brother was too attached to Fluxion to really see Thomas. Ever since Micro slowly realized how much he enjoyed his time with Thomas, between the times he planned "accidental" bump-ins for Thomas just so he could talk to his brother, he learned Thomas inside and out behind all that.
"You know…. I've alwaysss felt like I was chasing the wrong Saps…. like the universe is tellinggg mee… there is a Saps out there that would like me…"
Micro's posture tensed for a moment, that implied something he didn't dare to admit. Maybe even Thomas himself didn't know what that implied. In the corner of the white haired man's eyes was the gaze of his drunk friend, his eyes were pathetically slowly blinking towards Micro like a stupidly cute dog.
It took courage for Micro to turn his torso towards his dear drunk friend, Thomas and his empty glass of rum. "Another shot?" Micro leaned against the bar counter, tilting his head as he tried to play off the irregular heartbeat he had obtained just by seeing Thomas with rosy cheeks in his drunk state.
Thomas exhaled deeply, chuckling under his breath. "By all means.." His body lazily leaning forward, a drunken grin on him. The proximity between them shrunk drastically, not even the bar counter was keeping their chests from being within a breath length of each other. Micro tensed, his heart louder than ever before as the one thing he truly wanted—other than being a powerful drug lord, was right in front of him, intoxicatedly gazing at him like he was Thomas' next meal.
Micro leans back, his bartending uniform rustling as he lifts up his dear friend's glass to fill it up with one more shot. His swift movements turned slow, feeling his body and brain stutter but being interrupted by the sound of a thud echoing against the bar counter. Thomas, now drunk and propped up on the counter flushed and giggling.
"Thomas why are you—" "Is it okay if I like you."
It didn't sound like a question, more like he was asking for permission, Micro paused feeling speechless but before he could really process it properly Thomas started to sway and tip over the counter. Thomas sways off the bar but before he could hit the floor Micro catches him in his arms, soft pants escaping Micro as he hopped over the bar just to catch his dear friend. Thomas, still oblivious to his near injury fall, snuggled closer to Micro, curling up into the white haired bartender like a soft blanket.
"Warm..." Thomas leaned into Micro's chest, hearing the loud thump against his ear. Micro needed to help him up but his body melted against Thomas, his legs refusing to leave the fluffy feeling of Thomas' hair on his chest. Thomas shifts his head against Micro's shoulder, his warm breath gently fanning Micro's neck making the troubled bartender's spine shiver and his heart weak.
"Thomas, I need to get you home." "But it already feels like home here.." Thomas slurs on his words as his eyes felt heavier and heavier leading him to a deep intoxicated slumber in Micro's warm and soft arms.
Micro felt conflicted yet relieved to know at least even through drunk slurs Thomas still finds home in him. Eventually Micro made the decision to bring back Thomas to his own apartment since he didn't exactly know where Thomas lived. He carefully lifted Thomas into his arms gently tugging him close, to keep him safe but also to feel the slow breaths of his dear friend fanning his neck softly.
Micro has already cleaned up for the night sparing the glass Thomas had used, quietly exiting the club with Thomas sleeping comfortably against his shoulder. His apartment was near enough for just a short walk, each step felt light and careful as Micro tried not to wake Thomas though his soft snores echoed in his ear.
"Never thought I would be bringing you home like this." Micro whispered to the soft wind of the quiet city. He scoffed faintly, peaking at Thomas on his shoulder in deep sleep feeling his chest tighten and flutter realizing he had missed his face dearly, he remembered each faint freckle on his face intimately memorizing the eye bags he donned.
After a while Micro had reached his apartment complex, pushing the door open with his foot quietly to not alert any sleeping residents inside. Going upstairs with a huff as he carried Thomas snuggled against his body, but he managed to get to his apartment door struggling to get his keys with Thomas slumping over him yet getting it into the keyhole swiftly.
Micro quietly settled Thomas down onto his bed, planning to just sleep on the couch for his dear Thomas, he shifts in his sleep lazily holding onto Micro's arm.
"Cold.." Thomas slurred a whisper still half drunk and asleep. Micro sighed heavily, he was in too deep not to indulge his poor friend, reluctantly he stayed close as he laid next to Thomas letting him embrace his chest close to his head. Micro felt his cheeks flush once more and his heart raced but felt like he was right where he wanted to be.
"The things you do to me Thomas.. You really will be the death of me." Micro whispered a chuckle, caressing Thomas' soft brunette hair lulling him to sleep, softly planting a light kiss on his forehead.
The dim light of the moon shone through Micro's curtains, the soft glow on the messy tangle of their bodies close together, Micro still in his uniform and Thomas drunk out of his mind pathetically snuggling close to Micro for warmth.
"I fear once you wake up and leave.. you'll be taking my heart with you Thomas."
