Chapter Text
It was just another Monday at Euler's High, and Alex was sure that the day would be marked by the usual slow pace and dead hours, oh how he was wrong.
Alex used to hate school, not because of the work but because of the students, who were always ready to make fun of someone just by their interest and their fear. Actually, going to school wasn't so bad, Recently, he had made a friend, Dariush.
Of course, they weren't the most conventional pair of friends in the world, given that they teased each other whenever they could and also considering their very different personalities, but the two trusted each other, and that was all that mattered.
Alex was waiting for Dariush at the school gate, holding a Rubik's cube he had been working on for a few seconds. The boy had the unhealthy habit of always being late, even with a private driver!
Just as Alex had figured out how to solve one face of the cube, someone bumped into him, knocking the Rubik's cube to the ground. Alex was about to bend down and pick it up when the person in front of him handed it to him, so he looked up to see who the boy who had bumped into him was (at least by his figure he assumed it was a boy!)
The boy in front of him had dark brown, almost raven hair. He was tall and slender, very cute, with puppy eyes that could melt every teenagers heart. He was definitely new. As much as Alex loved being in his own world, he couldn't help but observe the people around him. It was surprising how much gossip Alex knew just because of his attentiveness. People didn't even consider his presence in the room and therefore felt free to talk about anything. He also knew many students, maybe not by name, but their face was crystal clear in Alex's mind, and this guy... was definitely new. It also didn't help the look in his face! Sherlock Holmes wasn't needed to resolve that case, even Dariush who wasn't the most... brilliant could've guessed it!
“Hey??” asked the guy in an annoyed tone, waving the cube in front of his face to get his attention.
“Huh?” asked Alex, confused, just back in the real world after a long inner monologue.
The boy looked at him for a few seconds to see if he was being real or if he was just messing with him, then he pushed the cube against his chest, muttering something as he walked away.
Alex stood there for a few seconds, stunned, wondering what had just happened to him, but he didn't have time to process it because a familiar face appeared in front of him.
“Dude, I didn't do my biology homework...”
“What happened to, I don't know, ‘good morning? How are you?’” said Alex, shaking his head.
Oh God, his battery was already running low; he had already talked to too many people.
“We both know that if I asked you, you'd launch into a dark, nerdy monologue about how you discovered that your favorite astronaut visited you in your dreams, triggering an alien apocalypse. So no, I'm not asking.” Dariush snapped, already bored and worried about his school grade.
"Wow, man... embarrassing, do you think I'm that much of a nerd? Do I need to remind you of when you spent three hours explaining the plot of Fight Club to me? And don't say ‘you don't talk about Fight Club’ or I swear I'll abandon you for the whole year."
Dariush pretended to be offended, hiding a smirk, then he wrap his arm around Alex shoulders messing with his free hand with his hair “Come on, let's go or we'll be late.”
Alex chuckled a little “look who's talking...”
