Chapter Text
The best big brother
Everyone knew that Shouto was Endeavour’s son. Not many people however knew that Shouto was The Cremation Hero Dabi’s baby brother. But from this point on Touya wasn’t going to let anyone forget.
It all started on a random Tuesday afternoon, but it changed the course of Touya’s life forever.
Dabi burst into the Endeavour agency like he owned the place. No one tried to stop him as he made his way towards the main office. Everyone knew that the pro hero had a grudge against his father, however the reason was never known.
Most speculated that it was jealousy over popularity or some other petty reason.
Dabi was glad his father had kept the real reason covered, in fact he was counting on it.
“ENDEAVOUR!!!!” Dabi yelled as he blast open the office doors. His father sat in his leather chair sorting through paperwork, he looked stunned for a moment at seeing his son but quickly regained his composure.
“Touya, I wasn’t expecting you, to what do I owe the pleasure?”
“Oh nothing much,” Touya said sitting down swinging his legs over the chair in front of him and slapping down the folder on Endeavour’s desk.
“Just wanted to deliver these in person.” Endeavour picked up the folder and quirked an eyebrow.
“What is this.”
“A custody agreement, in witch you sign over all your parental and guardian responsibilities and rights over Shouto to me.”
“WHAT!?!”
“Shouto deserves better then a selfish scumbag like you, oh but don’t worry my lawyer made it so you can have supervised visits, with my permission and Shouto’s consent of course.”
Endeavour’s face hardened. “And if I refuse to sign? What’s stopping me from taking you to court?”
Touya needed to be smart about this, if they ended up in court Touya could kiss his chances goodbye, he had a bit of reputation of being a bit… impertinent towards his father and in front of a Judge, the jury would definitely rule in the number two hero’s favour.
“Well I can’t force you but, if you don’t I release proof.”
“Proof of what?”
Touya’s playful expression grew dark.
“Proof of what you did to us.” All the colour drained from Endeavour’s face.
“You could always refuse to sign but then I post everything and I doubt the public would let you stay a pro hero for very long let alone a father.”
Touya smirked.
Endeavour’s hands shook, “You can’t take Shouto away from me, he is my child, you wouldn’t.”
Touya smiled pleased, “Perhaps not, but I don’t think that a risk your willing to take, plus you know I’d keep him safe and look after him properly.” Touya leaned forward in his seat getting in Endeavour’s face. “But either way, he’s coming with me.”
Touya stood and left the documents on the desk.
He looked at his fathers hopeless expression and didn’t feel an ounce of gilt,
but he decided to over him some comfort.
“Listen Dad, your a terrible parent, and a terrible person but your a good hero, so I’ll make sure Shouto grows up to be someone we can all be proud of.” He walked over to the door but not before turning around one last time at his dad’s hollow expression. “I hope one day you can be someone we can be proud of too.” And with that he shut the door and started walking home.
Shouto moved in less then a week later.
He wandered into Touya’s apartment with nothing but a box of clothes and a few books.
When Touya asked where the rest of his stuff was he simply said this was it. It was only then did Touya realise he didn’t have a clue what he was doing.
But his panic was interrupted buy a question.
“How did you do it?” Shouto asked, expressionless as ever.
“What do you mean pepper mint?” Shouto let out a soft huff.
“Fyumi said you have proof, how did you get it?” He said it in a near whisper.
“Oh that. I was bluffing.” Shouto blinked, “You what.”
Touya giggled mischievously “I made it up I didn’t have a ounce of evidence, I really didn’t expect it to work that well.”
Shouto looked at him dumbfounded, “Are you serious?”
“I’m always serious, but more importantly,” Touya dropped down to one knee and put his hand on Shouto’s shoulder, he tried to ignore the way he flinched at the touch, “From now on it’s you and me, you don’t need to worry about him ever again, you still want to be a hero right?”
Shouto made a slow hesitant nod.
“Then I’ll teach you, the proper way to teach someone.”
He stood up slowly.
“And maybe you can teach me how to be a good big brother, how about that?”
Shouto let out a small smile, it wasn’t much but it was enough for Touya.
“Alright then, first thing on the To-Do list is to get some new stuff for your room.”

Touya and Shouto wandered around the store. Touya could tell Shouto was overwhelmed buy all the choices, so he did his best to steer him in a certain direction.
They picked out a fluffy orange rug, a plain white bedside lamp with blue stars on it, a white Chest of drawers with brass handles and a set of All Might bed sheets. Along with some All Might Posters, Plushies and books.
Dabi was mentally debating whether or not he should get wallpaper or just paint the walls himself.
“Hey Sho, witch would rather: wallpaper or-“ he was cut short by the realisation that Shouto was no longer costing along beside him.
Dabi Freaked, he abandoned the cart in favour of running around the store frantically, asking any stranger he saw if they had seen his brother.
After about an hour (10 minutes) of searching Dabi finally found him at the very back of the store starring at a wall of hero plushies.
“SHOUTO! Oh My God! Don’t wonder of like that, too young to have a heart attack, if you wanted another toy you could have just asked.” Dabi scolded.
Shouto turned around with his head down and Dabi worried he had gone too far.
“They don’t have any.” Shouto said softly.
Dabi quirked an eyebrow, “any of what bud?” Shouto looked up with his big dow eyes.
“They dont have any Plushies of you, Touya.” Dabi froze and looked at his brother.
“You wanted merch,” he swallowed “of me?” Shouto nodded slightly Dabi’s heart broke. “I’m sorry peppermint I don’t really have anything like that, but how about we get you another All Might one instead?” Shouto bowed his head.
“All Might is an awesome hero, he saves lots of people and he’s really cool but,” he looked at Touya “your my favourite hero of all Ni-san.”
Dabi didn’t trust himself to speak, this was too much, he was so unbelievably cute that Dabi’s heart might burst on the spot.
“Well I’ll talk to my team and maybe we can do something about that.” Shouto light up.
“Now do you want wallpaper or just paint In your room?”
“Paint.” He said simply.
“Okay, what colour?”
“Blue.”
“Oh, is that your favourite?”
“No.” Shouto said grabbing Dabi’s scared hands “My favourite is yellow, but I want blue because it reminds me of you.”
Welp there goes Dabi’s heart, not like he was using it for anything important before.

Dabi tucked Shouto under the covers beside him, he was sleeping in Dabi’s bed until the paint in his room dried.
Dabi ran his fingers through Shouto’s hair gently until he was asleep, were he naturally gravitated toward his brother and snuggled up next to him.
Dabi lay his hand on Shouto’s back. Maybe it was okay if he didn’t know what he was doing, because his brother was safe cuddled up in his arms and as long as that was the case Dabi would never let anything hurt him.
