"If you're watching this video, that means I am officially dead." This was what Ray Manchester (Captain Man) said to his former sidekicks now superheroes, the Danger Force. It was something he has prepared for them when the time comes that he is no longer around and gone. Or in this case, dead.
After realising that Drex is in fact the husband of Cresanda Fudgers, he knew that for some reasons
A video emerged on the holoscreen and it shows Ray wearing a white robe, sitting on a couch in the Man's Nest and drinking a blue soda. They realised that this was the same message that he recorded when the kids try to open that door in the Man's Nest.
"Ahh, 1983, a good year for thirst-quenching American soda." Ray said, in the same format as that door in the Man's Nest.
"Oh, hello!" Ray said. "If you're watching this video, that means I am officially dead. This is a Code Blue-Black, which is automatically triggered via an transponder in my indestructible body in the event that I die or something terrible has happened to me and I am no longer indestructible."
"Yeah, we all know Ray." Mika said.
"Good thing you now know, Mika." Ray said, in which she was shocked as to how Ray knows what she said.
"Hold on, is this also prerecorded?" Miles asked, in which in the video Ray sighs.
"Yes, Miles, this is prerecorded like that message for my door to that room you guys tried to break into." Ray said as he stood up from his chair. "Again, you're all just that pre-dictable. But enough of this, I have to explain to you what this protocol is about."
"Now, this message I created was originally for Drex when he was my sidekick and later I changed it for Henry when he was still around and was Kid Danger. As a matter of fact, if you guessed it, I have to change this video message many times even after the Man Cave was destroyed and you kids became my sidekicks." Ray explainied. "For this message to work, I have Schwoz install a special transponder in my body which is similar to when I installed a boom device on his heart. If you want to ask how it's surgically impossible to install an implant on my indestructible body, please don't."
"I want to really know how." Miles asked.
"Oh, no, please don't ask ok!" Ray immediately responded.
"Sorry." Miles replied.
"Look, I know what's coming is not easy for you kids." Ray replied. "But I am sorry it has now come down to this."
"But my sudden death is not what's important right now. What matters now is what is going to happen as of right now." Ray said, in which the kids were shocked as to why.
"Along with this message, the transponder will also send a video message to the KLVY news station and to every social media platform where I will inform everyone in Swellview that I am dead and I have handed over the protection of this city to you guys." Ray revealed in which the kids suddenly were surprised. "Which is also a matter of fact that I also have to change that message many times, because originally I told them that I left the city under the protection of Henry. Because of this however, I have asked them for a period of mourning for me in which they along with you will mourn my passing, originally period of mournings for the death of someone or your loved ones or major world leaders usually takes like days."
"But however, I will announce that this mourning period will be forever." Ray said, in which the kids were shocked.
"WHAT?!" The kids say in unison.
"Look, this is for them to come and understand what happened and to give you time to grieve and also go through what I would assume a transitional phase. Because, let's face it, you are now the heroes of this city and." Ray paused, in which he sighed and revealed the truth. "I have decided to make an appeal to the Hero League to have you join them as you know, you guys didn't won an award in The Supies and hopefully know I made a lot of bad decisions in my life as a crime-fighter. Even as I see you guys emerge from sidekicks to where you are today."
Mika, Miles, Chapa and Bose both become shocked and tears started to emerge on their faces, they realised that Ray has done this for them and they do not know how if they can overcome this.
"But, we both know it will not be long for most of Swellview's criminals and villains to realise that Captain Man is officially gone and that they will try to take advantage of this mourning period." Ray explained, in which the kids know it will happen.
"Which is why I am leaving the Man's Nest as your headquarters, Danger Force." Ray said. "I know Schwoz will be with you and guiding you through this transition, but everything you need in the Man's Nest including my weapons, files and gadgets are all yours now."
Both Mika, Miles, Chapa and Bose looked at each other, it is the one thing that Ray can only do for them even as he dies.
"Any-Ray, I guess this is it." Ray said, as he smiled for one last time. "Swellview is officially in your hands now, you always have my back and I always have yours. I trust that you kids will protect Swellview like we did and I hope you could accept the fact that you are officially no longer sidekicks but superheroes now."
"Good luck! And goodbye, forever!" Ray said, as the message ends, signalling that Ray has now handed the protection of Swellview to his Danger Force. The kids both started to hug each other as they cry, they are now the only ones that can protect Swellview.
